Louisville fans

Nov 7, 2021, 11:03 AM

I thought Gamecock fans were notorious for abandoning their team…
In general, the Louisville fans were nice - some a little boisterous because it was a night game and they were tanked up already.
Despite them giving away free tickets all week, the stadium was probably about 75% full. They didn’t even scan my tickets! Literally, just security wanded everyone for weapons and let anyone in. Over 1 million people live within a 10 mile radius and they still couldn’t get enough to show up for free.
Half the Louisville fans left after our go-ahead touchdown midway through the 4th, and the rest after our field goal, with plenty of time still for them to win, which they came darn close to doing.
After the game, it was literally only Clemson fans leaving the upper concourse, and we’re all like “where’d everyone go?”

Sort of reminds me of the Peach Bowl - 4th and 16 win - over LSU.

I got a bunch of tickets from the USO because the LSU fanbase thought they were being disrespected and deserved a better bowl; so they returned a LOT of unused/unsold tickets. But there were still quite a few LSU fans, and our tickets were in the middle of them. So, for the entire game, they were the most obnoxious (condescending) and arrogant people I’ve experienced. And every time we got close (don’t remember if we ever got the lead?) they would score to go up, and boy did they give us an ear-full of the ‘sec’, jumbalaya, and you name it. Lord, it was almost unbearable!

Then, we march down the field, get in position for the winning field goal - and kick it - TO WIN! We were all high fiving and cheering and laughing amongst ourselves for two or three minutes….. and when I turned to ‘give it back’ to several of the MOST OBNOXIOUS of the A Hole LSU fans, there was not a SINGLE ONE of them to be found anywhere! I don’t doubt more than a few left before we even kicked the field goal…..

…. I have had an intense and special dislike for LSU fans ever since.

Same here. I was in a mostly Tiger section and the section over was mostly lsu. Some of the lsu fans started grousing about the play calling after the 3 incomplete passes, and more joined in after the 4th and 16 play. Many left before the end of the game.

GO TIGERS!!!! The real TIGERS and the real Death Valley. I've gotten into a few conversations with lsu fans, and end up telling them you can't dig a hole in flat ground and call it a valley. I'll usually give a few more appropriate derogatory names their stadium should be named.

I grew up in the '50s and listened to LSU on WWL on Saturday nights and was a fan. That changed after the Peach Bowl...

I used to listen to LSU also in the early sixties on WWL. Had an old RCA radio band could get it pretty good in SC after the sun went down. Was a pretty big LSU fan but had to drop them when Coots went into SEC. Also listened to Buddy Ds sports talk show up into the nineties

we don;t have alot to talk trash about, did you go to the FSU game? DV was 75-80% to start the game and less than 40 4th quarter, those that stayed were loud, student section was awesome... but when it started to drizzle the exodus began... too bad because the finish was awesome and the weather cleared up.

The rain was at least somewhat of an explanation for the exodus during FSU. UL fans left for seemingly no reason other than lack of interest. As I look at pics I took last night, 75% was a way generous overestimate of attendance. This pic was midway through the first quarter, and the far side of the field there was the home seats.

We had taken raincoats but not ponchos to the FSU game, since the forecast showed little to no chance of rain. We got rained on several times during the game but stayed until halfway through the 4th when some family members started shivering violently. We could hear the crowd all the way back across campus and we did get to see the last 4 minutes on TV. I am taking ponchos into the last 2 games no matter what the weather people say.

I was there as well. There is no way that stadium was 75% full. I saw more like 50%. 60% at most. And yes, they give away a ton of tickets. They were giving away season passes at halftime. I left at the end of the 3rd quarter. I’m too old to sit at the top of the stadium, should have looked to see where the tickets were before I bought them. Worst thing is, you couldn’t even move to a different section. They would check your tickets before you went to sit, even into the 3rd quarter! Tons of empty seats in the lower sections, but unless you got a ticket, you’re not going to sit there.

I wonder if a lot of their tickets are corporate or rich people

Nov 7, 2021, 9:28 PM

The lower deck ticket prices were high yet their home safe was only about 50% full. Who holds onto tickets going for close to $100 each?
