Mafah will be the top 3rd stringer on the 2022 team at any position if Ship and Pace come back healthy. It's a shame he can't be plugged in at another position.

I don’t think he’s going to be 3rd string. He has the speed/size/strength of a Najee Harris type RB. I think he is going to be very hard to keep off the field, even with the talent we have in the RB room. I’ve watched a lot of film in my day (coached some Varsity football), and he is a rare breed. I like Pace, but I think Mafah would have passed him on the depth chart, even without the extra 1st string reps he’s gotten this Spring. Getting a taste of being the main man is hard to get rid of, and he will be going HARD over the Summer and Fall camps. I don’t want to lose Pace to the portal, but it wouldn’t shock me after this season if Mafah takes the next step. We all know what Ship can and is gonna do.

Nothing wrong with two Running Backs on the field at the same time.
Sweep either side, screen passes, pass blocking, shift to a flanker slot, so many options!
Put that together with our group of tight ends, and we may have our most balanced offense ever.
Fewer QB runs, and wide receiver screens too. Not a one back offense.
When you have talent, use it or lose it!

He’s a load and a freak of an athlete. Like a more athletic Jerome Bettis.
It’s great to hear he has such a good attitude and good hands. He is going to be really fun to watch.
