JUCO players are usually a bad business, unless you've got an infinite supply of them and you're very, very close to their situations and can monitor them, like Bill Snyder at K-State. Snyder can do this because there's a boatload of junior colleges for whatever reason in Kansas.
The odds say only one JUCO in three works out...and then after two years you're left with a hole on your roster. It's a short-term solution, and one that rarely works well...and it leaves your depth in tatters for the next coach.
It's bad business, and it's also a cycle that's very hard to get out of.
