Long Time member perspective

I enjoy this site and have been a member for a long time. I do not post very often. I am a Gamecock and have children that have attended both Carolina and Clemson. We do exist, people that pull for both teams. When the teams play our family is divided for just that time.
As to Clemson going to the Big 12. Please do not. If I had my wish you would be part of the SEC. But I don't and since I was in school at Carolina during the time we left the ACC I know there is hard feelings in Columbia toward Clemson (because we thought we had a deal and both Clemson and Carolina were going to leave together) and the ACC.
I just know, I always want both teams undefeated when they play each other. Leave out the hate and ugly comments that appear here and on Carolina sites. Appreciate what we have which is a small state with fan bases that support their school without malice toward the other but embrace the competition.
I'm 63 and this is the strongest I have ever seen both programs. We should all be proud of that and look forward to good clean competition.

This is far from the strongest the Clemson program has...

ever been! The current TV $$ gap between conferences is doing more to ruin college athletics than anything. Soon, only the members of 3-4 conferences will even have a chance. unfortunately for us, Clemson is now at a distinct disadvantage to USC simply because of conference affiliation.

Personally, I don't care to hear any clucking from any coot with or without any Tiger fans in their family. If you are a coot that lives next door to Clemson. You are still a 100% clucking coot with nothing to say that we would be interested of hearing. Cluck cluck fluck a coot!!!

I'm sure all of the Coot fans want us to stay where we are

it is the first time in history that you feel like you are equal to Clemson. Tell you what let's just switch conferences?

March, I am sure most chickens would love to see us stay in the ACC. The monetary advantage alone for USUC plays to their advantage. As far as blaming Clemson when yall decided to leave the ACC, gotta blame someone for that epic failure. I just fear that we are going to be standing at the station watching the train race by if we do not make this move. I have been wrong before, and will be again, but college football is changing quickly.

I certainly didn't mean anything negative about Clemson in my post. Guess it is hard to say positive things without some of you acting like immature kids.
Again, I would like to see you in the SEC. I just think the Big 12 is a long way to go to play in all sports and I believe like Hood's article it will hurt you some in recruiting.
I do think you have a strong program and I like for both schools to be successful. Sorry you don't share the same opinions.
As far as where I live, I would not degrade your home so why do you feel like you should degrade the midlands. Be careful what you wish for.

Thanks for the post but I think you're being a bit sensitive since you stated you'd like Clemson to stay in the ACC but never offered your reason why.
Travel & potentially losing some recruits isn't a very compelling argument. Of course Clemson will lose some recruits but will also gain some.
I think just about everyone in the Deep South would love to see Clemson, FSU & GT in the SEC including Clemson fans.

I presume he meant strongest at the same time...

obviously Clemson was stronger '81 - '90 but with the exception of two or three years, USuC was pretty weak during that decade.
