No way this happens.

As nice a thought as this is, there's no way it happens. Our defense will be decimated, our ground game is mediocre, our kicking is suspect (along w/punting w/the departure of Pinion), & there is no guarantee that Watson can stay healthy. We could still win 10, but we're destined for another middling bowl appearance.

A lot of people would have said the same thing about Ohio State except they also lost their first and second string QBs.

I would only agree if we lose 1 game

But I don't agree that we win 10 by the time our bowl game is won.
I think any ACC team with 1 loss gets a number 5 or number 6 slot like TCU did this year. So if we can't win all this year, we aren't going to make the playoffs.
I don't agree that any Watson injury will prevent us from winning. Our backup situation is pretty good even though they are early enrolled freshmen. Not all that different from OSU.

Ohio St had a terrible loss to a terrible ACC team at home to start the season and made the playoffs. If they lose that same game exactly the same way in November, they don't make the playoff. Crazy how that works.

Not really! When a team reaches November, they should be firing on all cylenders and playing their best FB. Not so much so in September!!!

I would say his pulse isn't zero yet is b/c over a 1000 t-netters have read his coot hatred toward our team and has given him a free ride as if agreeing its ok to spit his all Clemson hatred on a Clemson Tiger site. As of right now 1067 has read his garbage, and he has only received 12 TDs. Maybe only 12 Tigers read his negativity, and the other 1055 were coots that agreed with him. Who knows!!!

Proving this guy wrong! Screen shot it now so this time next year we can discuss how little you know of our player depth.

LOL...typical, petulant reactions...

The "coot", "chicken", etc responses, & the "what do you know?", "what makes you an expert" type responses are typical, petulant responses to points-of-view you don't agree with. LMAO...I really wonder how old some of you people are, & if you act this immature in your daily & work lives. I'd love to see you at work when you issue these types of responses to coworkers & superiors when you encounter things you don't agree with. What's next? Are you going to hold your breath until you turn blue so I will change what I say? Or will it be the, "OH YEAH? WELL MY DAD CAN BEAT UP YOUR DAD!" response?
You may not like what I have to say...but it's a realistic assessment of our situation. This year was our best shot at the playoff. Our O will be breaking in a new system & new coaches, our D will lose much of its production w/o any guarantee it can match said production, our running game is mediocre & our QB, despite his upside, has health questions. W/o our defense this year, we lose 2-3 other games. Take away a major part of that D, & fill your O w/question marks, & that does not = a playoff. Can it happen? Yes, theoretically. Will it happen? No -- not realistically.

It's funny how you find your own claim as being "realistic" even though it's not grounded in reality. The Tigers should be favored in all of their games next year. Shows how much you know.

Please enlighten us all as to how the items I mentioned are not grounded in reality. This ought to be fun.

You keep saying we, us and ours like you were a Clemson fan, and you are always speaking against us. I think you are a cooter pretending to be a part of a good fan base. But just one season as a cooter, and the cocksmell on your breath makes you much to tainted to make it work even as a pretender of Tiger Nation...
It's always something negative towards Tiger nation with you. How did your prediction in this post go for you cooter. You are always wishing for what the winners have. The coots don't have enough money to buy any coach we have, and especially not BV. Nothing about the cooters would ever make any sense to him either.

YAWN. Same, tired, "I don't like what you're saying, therefore you are a SCAR fan posing as a Tiger fan". The homoerotic imagery was a nice touch too. Project much? I say we, us & ours like I AM a Clemson alum. But hey, if it helps your small mind make sense of the world to believe otherwise, far be it from me to rob you of that fantasy.
& it's flattering that you're stalking my posts, but what point are you trying to make exactly w/my BV post? You're knocking a hypothetical question in which I praised BV's resume? LOL...whatever. You should really stop gargling bong water.

Anybody that thinks our season will plummet if Watson gets another injury is either a fan of another team, or they don't understand the importance of having a QB coach like Brandon Streeter. Brandon's main focus on the field will be getting our QBs ready to play. Bradon had started working on a coaching career when Jeff Scott was still a student at Clemson. And Jeff has coached 2 1st round draft picks. Brandon will have much more time for getting our QBs ready to play than coach Morris ever had working with our QBs. Brandon worked with Cole only a few weeks before Cole played his best ever game in a Clemson uniform. Cole looked as if he had receive a mirricle with his foot work under Brandon. And I personally believe that Brandon is going to be the best QB coach that maybe we've ever had at Clemson. And I'm seriously looking forward to seeing our truefreshman QBs perform in their back up role under Brandon Streeter's guidence in 2015. I think that when ever our truefreshman QBs are called on to play, we will see our back ups perform very well as suitable, servisble Quarter backs!!!

Hopefully Watson can get up to at least 215 by next season and stay healthy. If that's the case we will have no problem putting up 40 ppg, if the D stays in the top 25 I can see this happening. The Key is def Watson's health all year.

Very possible if...
Jan 13, 2015, 3:15 PM
|

offense remians healthy and our defense is servicable. We will take a step back defensively, but still have enought talent and experience to cause problems. If our offense stays healthy then I'd say holding teams to 350 yds or less and 27 points or less is a recipe for success in conference play.
