Dude retiring and sends out his last "email"
Hi Team..
What a ride!! Tomorrow is my final stop in my lifetime of the working world. I retire tomorrow after 7+ years @ SRNS and careers that have spanned 51 years of paying social security. My time to enjoy some relaxing years is as much scary as it is exciting. I wish to thank SRNS for giving me the opportunity to be me, a service to you. I hope in your eyes I accomplished that. I can say without hesitation that I will miss working at SRNS. I have found the vast majority of the challenges that were presented to me as a fun and motivating thing to do. Yes, I will miss the work (a little), but I will miss the people the most.
I have been blessed to work with individuals that spanned the spectrum from one end to the other. The bonds that have been cultivated bring a smile to my face. At SRNS I found gratification in the supporting of my Maintenance, my Operations, my RP and my Engineering peers. In the words of the great entertainer Frank Sinatra, “I did it my way. For that, I can only say thank you. Thank you for accepting me and honing my skills from your expert tutelage to be the best I could be. This was only possible from your compassion, gifted talents, and support. I am hoping and thinking that we will see each other again. And until that day, be safe because I need you that way, and as a team we need each other.

Nobody ever retires from here.
I've never worked anywhere people retire from. Their job just gets eliminated on one of the once every 12-18 month reorgs.

It was more of a thing a few years ago, but people have mostly gotten that out of their system.

I was retiring. No going away email to all my co-workers.
Forwarded my email account to my boss and answered my mobile phone (since it was my number) and texts with my boss's information ready. Archived my email account so he could look things up.
Been laughing ever since.

A few did. Not me. Had been telling the people I worked with daily I was leaving for a year.
Itry to swing by and take a dump occasionally in our small office. Just so they know how I really feel.
