John Beilein is available

Would be a slam dunk. He’s older but would be way better than Brownell

Agreed. He would be a great hire if you could get him.

If I were DRad I would be talking to his agent now, especially since he is available. Beilein knows how to be successful at a football school first also.

Probably one of a short list of basketball coaching hires that wouldn’t destroy the current roster and lose the incoming commits. However, forget about it. DRad ain’t making a change this year.

Curious - why would CLEMSON not be able to get him?
Of course I want Mark Few from Zaga, but we apparently cannot get him either. That I understand, but not sure about this guy.

a) He is 70 years and has no desire to build a program from scratch
b) He is under contract to Cleveland for the next 4 years even though he left the head coaching job.
c) He made it pretty clear that he was burned out as a coach and that he was done. When you talk about what you accomplished during your 35 years of coaching and how you want to take a step back and reevaluate, you are finished as a coach.

Who is Woffords new head coach? We should go after that guy. I wanted the last one before he went to Va Tech and at least against us that has worked well.
Wofford always has a competitive and well coached team. Plus Clemson is a step up so it is reasonable to think it would happen versus Beilein.

The coach that left Wofford for Va Tech......licked a little Tiger Tail this season, twice if I remember correctly.
And that was after losing 9 out of the top 10 players from last year.
Young can coach and recruit and runs a great program.
Wanna bet Young has Va Tech in the tournament long before Clemson ever sniffs the dance again under BB?????

If Drad was confident we could get John Beilein

Brownell would be fired. Beilein took an office position with the Cavs.

Wondering where the load of money will come from? With the new SEC deal we are further behind than ever. Guess we could fire Venables and pay for the new coach

We could afford it easily and still afford what we pay are whole football staff. People don't realize Clemson has plenty of money and college basketball is big business second only to college football. This isn't college baseball or Olympic sports we are talking about here...

His salary with Cleveland was $4 million a year, so you start from there.

Apparently you don’t understand finances as we are at a significant deficit to our main competition (Big10 & SEC). We will need every dollar to stay competitive in football. Adding $3MM to basketball will do little to raise our revenue

You people need to quit whining and go back to chasing 18-year-old football recruits.
