BS BS BS He's NOT a big story, he's a big media hype, and a person of low character, who, if not for the color of his skin would have been written off after the "wreck fiasco" with his then wife. CBS, and their commentators just multiply his popularity by MIllions. The ratings they say. Well they are right about that, because "players", not golfers, want to see the tournament, not Tiger. We will have to see every move he makes, the media would rather show Tiger going into the portalet than the leader sink a 90 foot putt on number 14 for birdie.
When the golf came on TV this past weekend, Tiger was not even there and we heard his name mentioned a half dozen times in the first 30 minutes. Tiger was a great player, the best ever, NOT CLOSE, maybe 5th, possibly 4th best ever, but why don't they talk about Jones, Nicklaus, Hogan and Norman (MO, not Greg) were all better and the talking heads never mention them. I don't care who's leading, if Tiger does play this week, on Thursday and Friday we will hear the never ending Tiger did this, Tiger is putting for double bogy, and then when he hits a "low hard fairway club", we will have to hear Nobalo say, "He's hit the Tiger Stinger", like he invented that shot, after Tom Watson made a career out of "a low hard fairway club."
So for golf traditionalist, just show us the great shots hit by all the players, the leaders shots that matter most, and should Tiger somehow get in the mix, show his good shots too. If not, just change the name from the "Masters" to the Tiger Woods show.

Cute response. It's interesting that you went with name calling.

Interesting that you call me "stupid", yet you suggest my post is a blind liberal defense of a minority golfer on the basis of race when I never mentioned race in any portion of my response. Your reading comprehension skills are not what you think they are.

Associating me with "American liberals" or calling me "WOKE" is humorous. I'm guessing you haven't seen much of what I post.

The fact that I understand TV ratings and why the camera points in certain directions has nothing to do with political affiliation. If you want to blame somebody for Tiger being on camera too much, don't blame the media but blame all of the extra viewers who still tune in every time he appears in a tournament.

You also claim that your criticism is not of Tiger, and yet you criticized his character and his personal life with his ex-wife as though it should have an effect on whether or not the cameras follow him at a golf tournament. Apparently your recall is on par with your comprehension. Remember, you called me stupid.

The emotion in your post suggests very strong negative feelings toward Tiger and your response to me posting an explanation as to why he receives so much coverage makes it seem as if you project those negative feelings on anyone who disagrees with you. If you don't like the term "hate" that is fine, I will concede that you don't hate him.

Finally, I find that most people who choose to use that quote fail to realize some of the things that come out when they open their mouth.

I hope you enjoy Tiger Fest for the next several days. I don't expect him to make the cut if he plays so you shouldn't have to worry about it on Saturday and Sunday.
