Let's go Brandon

Streeter! I personally am not in favor of this hire, but if you do become our OC, you will get my ??% support.

Just for grins I pulled up some YouTube videos of the Richmond offense when he was there, 2014 specifically. Team looked efficient and moved the ball in chunks. A bit pass heavy but that is the game now anyway, but the runs were effective and got good chunks as well. Bottom line, I want to see how the Bowl game looks barring the entire WR room getting hit with mono, strep throat or a bus. If we see a repeat of the Russell Bowl agaisnt Oklahoma then I am 100% for it. Almost Ironic that's where we are playing.

Gotta look at those defenses

Dec 12, 2021, 8:58 PM

Probably weren't that good. But that's not my concern. My concern is his job as QB coach and was his tenure as QB coach good. Yes our QB play since 2015 has been outstanding. But we also had elite talent. And it seems everyone since 2015 had their best season with their first starting season. Except maybe DW4 since he spent most of his freshman season injured. Bryant was best in 2017, Lawrence was best in 2018, and DJ was best in 2020 (though he only started two games) so QB progression has concerned me a lot lately. Perhaps he will be a better OC than he was a QB coach. But like I said, once it's official, he will have my support.

Uh… I bet the defenses were as good as the offenses in that league.
I do not agree on best years being their best either. Lawrence was great all 3 years!
He did not have the same team the last 2 years as the first.
Pretty sure Watson won the Natty in his last year.
The jury is still out on DJ but the people you play with do make a difference.

I've just got a feeling that...

Brandon Streeter could be the perfect solution as OC. He's definitely "one of us" but he also has been 'on board' long enough to be on of 'them'. 'Them' being one of the most successful college football coaching staffs ever assembled. Just sayin'....Let's Go Brandon!!!!!

If Streeter is promoted to OC, keep in mind...

Dec 12, 2021, 9:15 PM

that Scott and Elliot had no prior experience as an OC before they were hired by Dabo. Before coming to Clemson, Streeter spent seven years as the OC at Liberty and Richmond.

I think Streeter was out of his element being a QB coach. The more I look into him the more I think he could be the perfect guy for OC. The guy might not recruit huge numbers but he get THE GUY. He recruited Lawrence, DJ AND Cade.

Not worried a bit about his scheme. Playcalling etc. To me it's all Jimmy and Joes. Which imo we have enough cred on offense. That is debatable about QB development. I would assume tajh takes it over... But I'd like to see a cutcliff analyst at a minimum. There is some debate and concern over DW4 and Trevor and some lack of basics they received in college.

I know for a fact other big schools are selling it any way.

This might sound stupid but the only thing I really worry about is recruiting Florida. I know its just 1 state but there is a lot of talent there and Elliott was great. Now we gotta go against him and Shannon down there. I'm now betting Spiller turns into a superstar recruiter there. From FL, NFL experience, former Clemson star. It's all going to turn out great I bet.

If Street takes over as OC, JP Losman should be strongly considered for the QB coach IMO. Former NFL QB who is already on staff. He obviously knows the correct way to do things and knows what is required for preparing guys for the League

Good point actually. I like that a lot better than Tajh. I respect all that Tajh dis at Clemson, but not sure about his coaching yet, and well...when he was off, he was not great. Big games were not his best to be kind.
