Let’s face it..

Sep 19, 2021, 11:06 PM

Our coaches are in complete denial about how inept and non productive the offense is. It’s painfully obvious less talented teams are more productive than ours. Offensive staff is failing and not earning their huge salaries.

Agree m, that’s what’s frustrating…tired of hearing “I’m proud of our guys”

Me too, I’m not giving up on this team/Offense,and will root til the end! Just not satisfied with coordinating and excuses!

To please a bunch of ding dongs on the internet... especially Dabo. Never has, never will.

If that is your expectation, you'll have to live with disappointment...at least until dabo leaves.

Maybe we can embarrass Oklahoma again in the Russell Athletic bowl.

I mean, what do you want them to say? Our defense is fantastic and our offense stinks? Great moral booster that would be.

Sep 20, 2021, 11:16 AM

well its the truth and i'm a tiger through and through, with the good the bad and the ugly and right now its the ugly, i'm a realist and i know that winnning year after year is a very difficult task to sustain and we have done very well, so now is not the time to panic but a time to re-evaluate and make the adjustments need to be more successful not looking to win a natty this year but at least win the acc and i think that we would be success this year, just dont think at this time we have all the right pieces to the puzzle after losing all our offensive talent last year so we have to absorb a little adversity up front to back to form either at end of this year or next.

Re: Let’s face it..

Sep 20, 2021, 7:24 AM

Here’s my concern. Dabo is hiring all of these ex players with limited coaching experience while Nick brings in people like Bill Obrien, Sark and Lane Kiffen. I love all the Alumni and especially CJ but really how would Dabo ever be able to make a change there if it doesn’t work out. In my opinion the 2 best hires he has made are Morris and Venebles who came from OUTSIDE. Now we got Thomas Austin waiting in the wings at OL who came from Ga State I believe. Tahj is now waiting in line for something. If you don’t bring in fresh ideas from outside or continue to try and change you will just continue to wallow in your on self glorification. I would really love to see him go after a top flight OC to go along with Venebles
But don’t count on it. Really don’t think he wants anyone that will challenge him too much
Just think the so called Culture that is great could use some new ideas on the field
Anyway I’m starting to ramble now. That is all

i hate to say it but i think you are right on cue, we have gotten so use to success we have forgotten how to handle adversity at this level, i really think some of these players we have have been told coming out of high school that they were great and all they had to do is come to clemson and that would continue, i really feel like our coaching has their work cut out for them and time will tell if we made the right choices but as of right now were headed the wrong direction.

Re: Let’s face it..

Sep 20, 2021, 10:57 AM

We have handled adversity well because we still won a game most teams would have lost... we are a very hard out for any team, that’s the culture Dabo has built.

We may not be where we need to be but we can count on Dabo working to make it better. Dabo will ask for wisdom & outside advice so trust he is trying to change the offense for the better.

We will see more of the same from NC state, we have to over come these defenses or we will suffer a couple of losses..

Let’s don’t lose our minds & believe our coaches can’t coach all of a sudden. The players themselves are being challenged to overcome & grow quickly on offense too.

I’d be surprised if we win a game or two in the playoffs unless we improve like we did in 2016 after our loss.

We keep getting better & better everyday, in every way!

not really speaking of game adversity we have that whats new is our offense as a whole, we have never really experienced it the last 5 yrs or so because our offense was clicking on all cylinders pretty much now all of a sudden we have near no offense so it seems, will have to see what the nc.state game gives us then it will tell the story.

Re: Lol.. yeah. The people who get paid millions to

Sep 20, 2021, 12:32 PM

No it doesn’t. Money should not even come into it but if you think it does let’s just say an
OC that makes , oh let’s pick a random number like say 2 million with 5 star receivers, RB, QB
And adequate OL, shouldn’t he be able to out think and adjust on the fly against a DC that makes less than half that with a bunch of 3
Stars. I like Coach Elliot but the days of waiting for DW4 and Trevor to pop a big play are over. I just think being last in the ACC in offense is vewy vewy bad. Numbers don’t lie and you don’t have to be a coach to understand the numbers. Heck I don’t even know what cover 2 means but I know what 14-8 against Ga Tech means

Me too…..it means all the fans that don’t know anything start clamoring for coaches who have taken us to the top be run off because we didn’t light things up the first 3 games of the year while we are trying to figure out our offensive identity.

I certainly don’t want any coaches run off. Just would like to see them adapt and adjust on the go instead of just “ Taking what they give us”

Need to get Jeff Scott or Chad Morris back on the phone, we have an OC job available....right now we just got a dude in the booth hitting the same play button on the video game calling it.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Let’s face it..***

Sep 22, 2021, 12:39 PM

No to both. Chad did a LOT of great things, but he had his flaws as well, and they were big ones. Scott was really good for us, but I would want someone innovative that wasn't afraid to stretch the field a bit more. The word has been out on our offense since Watson was here, just had a few generational talents that made it work. We have great talent, but last year a whole lot of ugliness got masked by ETN learning to catch. RB screen became one of our most productive passes. Nothing wrong with that, it's high % and safe, and we got big results. But unless Shipley becomes receiving threat #1 we need a MUCH more dynamic threat past the box or we will see a LOT more grind it out, 2-3 yard runs. In fact, to go one further, I always thought with Deshaun and Gallman we passed to set up the run. Passing pulled safeties back and lanes opened up. Funny how that works.. But a QB needs more than 1.5 seconds to see the field OR we better get REALLY good at slants!
