The ACC is not losing much if Clemson goes to the Big 12. Our bball program is not very good, our baseball program is ok, and the one time our football team represented the conference in the OB we embarrassed ourselves and the rest of the ACC.
Somebody please explain to me why I am wrong without calling me a coot or giving me a history lesson.

Clemson has more ACC football championships than any other school. That is itself is enough reason for the ACC to want to keep Clemson.

FSU goes as well.
Also, we have the largest football fanbase in the ACC and comand a big market in Charollette and Atlanta.
You are correct, our accomplishments recently haven't been much, but football still pays the bills.
The ACC can't afford to lose Clemson and FSU.

during that period.
It has nothing to do with worthiness. As far as that goes the SEC, IVY and no other conference is worthy of Clemson.

You're looking too short-range for historical point of view. You need to understand the full vision of what Clemson Univeristy and the athelitics stand for.

It goes way back further than 7 yrs..... We've had rivalries with these schools for over 100 yrs.

Clemson has more ACC titles than any other team. But perhaps more importantly, if Clemson leaves it signals instability and drastically increases the chances that VT, FSU, etc could leave the conference.
