Let's assume nothing changes between now and NSD...

And we get everyone who is committed and there are no negative/positive surprises... Is this, at least on paper, the best class we've ever signed?

I feel like as far as rankings and average star ratings, the only one that would compare would be the 2011 class (Sammy, Bellamy, Steward, Anthony, etc.), but I get the feeling this one is deeper, top to bottom.

As much as I hate saying "best ever" I think I would favor this class over the 2008 or 2011 classes. Deeper than '11 and more top end talent than '08. A lot will depend on how these guys develop but this class does have the potential to be a great one. The biggest factor that separates this class from '08 or '11 is the players already on campus. This class is simply stocking an already full cabinet.

this class is at least on par with '08 and '11 on paper, but what sets it apart for me is how stocked this team already is, with this class now on top of that. Recruiting can come and go in waves, but '15 is simply building on a steady succession of big-time hauls, with every position seemingly accounted for.

i can't speak for the 80s, but i'd say definitely.......

the best class since then at least.

If we do, this is the best class ever.

I think, in terms of individual accomplishment, the '08 class has been the best since the recruiting sites took off:

Almost 1/3 of those guys play/played in the NFL.

'11 may end up the best but I don't think you can make that call until they're all gone from the program.

Agreed!

The only true assessment of a class is after they leave.

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I would say yes and here's why...

Jan 26, 2015, 3:07 PM

CU already landed our star QB last season and now we added some elite depth. The OL has been our crutch for quite some time now. Well, we more than addressed that issue with some stellar prospects. Our DL took a hit this year as we lost many seniors. What'd we do? We went out and signed a fantastic DE and DT class. But the rich got richer and we landed some of the best skill players in the south.

So for all those reasons and more I'd certainly say it's our best, deepest, and most elite class to date. Regardless of the numbers or rankings we filled in the positions which we needed the most.

Definitely the best big ugly OL ever that I remember. But take in the memory starts getting foggy past 60, and my fog lights have been on and stays on, night and day!!!

This could be the best, but the Danny Ford era had a couple of fantastic classes (Jeff Davis, Steve Fuller, William Perry, Donnel Woolford, and many more that I can't recall at the moment). In fact, Clemson was known then as Linebacker U. One or two of those classes might have been a little better. Seems that I remember #1 and #5 a couple of those years. You had the wait for USA Today to come out the morning after signing to get the rankings.

I think this is the most well rounded group of talent we have had. Adding depth while addressing pressing needs has impressed me with this class. Plus the fact so many enrolled early.

Dabo seems to have instilled a humble and confident attitude among the program. He demands hard work and focus. I think this will result in incredible development of our players/recruits. I'm excited to see them grow into Clemson men.

Go Tigers!!!
