I admit that I was shocked to see so many of our defensive stars sitting for the game, but with two ranked conference teams on the horizon, Dabo was willing to roll the dice that even our backups would keep LaTech in check.

He was right.

For all those doubting Godwin, if we cover that TE, LaTech is throttled. They hit him five times for 125. Dude was always open and could fly. Reminded me of OJ Howard running loose. That’s an easy clean up.

Other than that? Defense looked elite. Active as hell all over the field. The air raid doesn’t give you time to rack up sacks because the ball is out fast but our guys compensated by tipping five balls and creating four turnovers. As far as LT running the ball? Lol. No. Even against our second, third and fourth string

Lot of good things on Defense. Is it me or did Trotter take a step up in leadership? He was getting after guys on the field to lineup correctly, love seeing that. Alot of young guys got a ton of PT should pay dividends later.

LAT ran a screen pass. As soon as our DL saw that they’d been released and the QB was dropping deep to suck them in, they all turned and ran back to the flat causing the QB to throw the ball away.

Out team had clearly been coached up on screen passes, that’s for sure.
