Last nights loss

Sep 23, 2012, 12:57 PM

I rarely post, but get on here to read others thoughts and opinions pretty much daily. I hate losing as much as the next person, I love my Tigers and have for over 30 years. I live and die with what happens to them on these beautiful fall Saturdays.

That being said, if we had to lose I'm glad it happened when it did. Thinking back to last season when we were 8-0 and talk of a national championship was in the air we fell and fell hard. I think it may have come too easy for our Tigers last season. This time, with this loss I truly believe it will bring out the mettle in these young men and turn them into fighters.

Yes, we may lose another game or two but hard times, hard losses can truly bring out the best in these young Tigers. You don't grow or mature in life as you should when things come to you easy. It's the tough situations that you endure that make you tough. Hopefully our guys will learn from this and will do a lot of growing up before this season is over. We can still have a great season. Go Tigers and please, please beat the Gamechickens this year, they've gotten entirely too big for their britches. :)

I post a lot ,and here are my thoughts:
I don't believe in moral victories.
I don't talk of National Championships,or undefeated seasons.
I hate pep talks fromm people who are not part of this team, defensively, offensively or are a member of the coaching staff.
Other teams also talk about maturing, getting things easier, tough choices, growing up and learning from lossess like last nite.Only no one ever thinks of that. They only think of their team.
Oh,and why shouldn't the chickens feel like they do.They are undefeated, ranked in the top 10 and have a 3 game win strak against the Tigers..
I guess you forgot to tell the Tigers that part ,didn't you?

I don't believe in moral victories either, you totally missed the point I was trying to make. You either win or you lose and unfortunately we lost. I believed before the game that we would go into FUS's house and come out victorious. I want something good to come out of this bitter defeat, that the team will not want to experience this feeling again. That's all I was trying to say. Sorry I offended you with my opinion.

You did not offend me tigermom, and I too apologize for being ,I guess blunt. But what we don't need is a bunch of philosophical mumbo -jumbo.
We got beat,by a better team at their place.
FSU was better last night.(Last year we were better).

P.S.This was the one game on the schedule I had us pegged to lose. After all, in our 8 wins( against 17 losses all time) only 3 of those wins have come at Tallahassee.

She just wished to show her support. If you're not up for that, it's cool.

This is the type game Clemson neeeds to be competitive in.Whether we are in a good place if we win,or a bad place if we lose is not as important as how we lose if we do come out of Tallahassee with an "L" Clemson cannot afford another 37 point blowout like we witnessed in the Orange Bowl.
However,a loss by 10 or 14 points would be acceptable to see where the program is.
Of course,a win would definitly show just how far this program has improved in just the past 9 months

^^ Love the facts

Also, Tigermom has some good points. Our defense is not top 10. Maybe we can learn from this and improve. Frankly if we grow some and beat USuC I can live with the FSU loss.

I support the team as well. What gets me is that some people just can't accept the fact that we got beat, even manhandled to some degree by a better team at their house. We lost.Plain and simple.
