Last basketball target?

It was quiet this past week regarding transfer portal players committing and visits compared to last week but one player that went to the portal late this past week that I hope Clemson goes after is Cedric Henderson Jr at Campbell. 6-6 athletic wing who would be a good potential starter at the 3 spot replaced David Collins. He averaged about 15 pts, 5 rebounds And almost 2 assists per game. His dad Cedric Sr played at Memphis and in the NBA. Henderson had some good games vs Duke and VCU this past season with 18 and 20. He must be in portal as a grad transfer since he came out yesterday and was going to be a senior this season so he can play next season.
Maybe the Judge knows if they are recruiting him or not?
A couple of players I hope would decide to not stay in the draft and Clemson would get involved with either decided to stay in it like Teddy Allen from NMST, or go back in portal like the athletic wing at SMU who transfered to Nebraska yesterday. Still no word what Pete Nance is going to do. He was impressive at the G League Camp but did not make the cut for NBA Combine this week.

Here was an interview and highlights of Henderson his first year at Campbell. Again, this this young man could bring some athletic ability to this team. Seems like a humble and high character player too

It seems that many b-ball players in the portal that are mentioned on here are not even considered by our coaching staff. Am I wrong ? Maybe I am just not into it as much as others.

There were a number of portal players that Clemson contacted, but also some good ones that commited to other schools including other ACC teams that I was surprised that Clemson didn't get involve with, because would have been a good players for the Tigers too. Sometimes I feel like they shot for the stars too hard on some guys probably didn't have a great shot with regarding who they were recruiting against. There are some decent mid major guys that can help like a Henderson I just mentioned. Would think they would not be too selective because time is running out and every school with a spot or two open is trying to fill their spots up too.

Spot on. Perhaps we contacted the player and there was no interest in Clemson or we thought said player was not a good fit off the court. Lots of options…

That would be great! The only problem there is Hall and Tyson play his position unless Tyson moves to the 3 or wing forward.
Assistant Billy Donlon was on the staff at Northwestern when Pete got there, plus all the familiarity from the family of Clemson.

yes but he has never lived near Clemson and other than his dad's musings has probably little connection to the school.

Looks like a good fit. Strong defense and good size for a wing. Could help replace leading rebounder Collins. Had 11 rebounds against Dook.

Yeah, I watched the replay that whole game vs Duke. Henderson is a really good athlete and Duke had a hard time guarding him.
I think Pete Nance is going to stay in the draft. He had a good showing in the Pro Day they had yesterday for draft prospects. I think he will be drafted at least in the 2nd round with the skill and bloodlines.

Looks like Henderson has set to make an official visit to NC State soon. Haven't seen any reports of him having a list of schools who have contacted him so don't know if Clemson wants him in for a visit as well. Really hope they are trying to get him as well.
NC State already has two of the top 11 transfers coming into the ACC next season (see link), and are waiting on their two best players if they will stay in the NBA Draft. I think I saw another list one time and Galloway going to Clemson was the next to last ranked transfer coming into the ACC next season. Clemson would have had one of the top three or four if Lleweyln would have stayed as a transfer.
Not as many reports coming out daily on what transfers remaining have indicated what schools they are narrowing down to. Most have already made their decision and there are a a few who have not made the decision if they are staying in the draft.

This would be a good get. Really can shoot it. Just needs to improve his defense, but think the staff could do that.

Walton is a great shooter. I think he just lost his confidence for some reason this past season. If Clemson gets him y’all will love watching him. If he gets hot he’s a big problem. He’s a step slow on D and that’s mostly why he didn’t play much for Coach Davis. It’s fair to say he was atrocious on D. If he can improve his D he will be a very nice starter.
