Without a doubt.

The academic fraud was coupled with paying players. Grades and a diploma are the biggest payoff in the history of the sport. AU and the Cam thing has nothing on UNCheat.

Until the NCAA stepped into the PSU mess, I would have said UNC. Now, I don't know.

NCAA had no business being involved at PSU over Sandusky

Aug 21, 2012, 8:25 PM

He was not an employee in the past few years & the horrible crimes had nothing to do with football players. IMO it should have been all State & Federal law enforcement putting him in the chair. As far as Paterno goes, he should have been jailed as well for the cover up, but 6 feet under in h3!! will have to do.

I think the NCAA most certainly should have been involved. The football staff KNOWINGLY harbored a child sex offender for over a decade. He used his PSU status and access as bait. There were multiple eye witnesses, investigations and even a confession of doing some things he shouldn't have done...yet the PSU president, VP, AD and head coach decided to kept it a secret in order to maintain the integrity of the football program in the eyes of the general public, which in turn gave them a "recruiting advantage" because players believed they were going to a "squeaky clean" program. The UNC academic scandal is not even close because it hurts only themselves. Many lives were ruined at PSU. Besides, where was Pete Carroll and Reggie Bush when USC received their punishment? Unfortunately, in most cases, the guilty ones escape and the institution has to pay the prices after they are gone.

Agreed. The Sandusky ordeal will go down as the biggest scandal in sports history, IMO.

By far.

I rogue booster is one thing. Professors and administrators committing academic fraud is a whole 'nother level.
