Anyone know if that's something that improves with gaining weight. Love the intangibles he brings but his lack of arm strength gives him much less room for error.

In the bowl game, Klubnik did start to remind me of Cole Stoudt: 1 second in the pocket, roll right, throw back across the field. Kid needs to learn to stay at home for another beat or two, because there were open receivers that he abandoned.

It’s almost like he was a true freshman and got zero protection. Y’all act like Trevor/Deshaun were perfect from the jump the kid got all of two games with a lot of playing time, the game will slow down for him.

He’s was above average for a freshman. He’ll get stronger. Looking forward to his leadership and enthusiasm over the next couple of years.

It’s impossible to build up your muscles to have more arm strength duh, but it’s almost like Cade has pinpoint accuracy to make up for what he make “lack” in arm strength. So far he hasn’t had issues making the throws he needs to ?♂️?♂️

I don’t think this is true (building muscle for greater arm strength is impossible) because why would anyone bench press or do curls etc…. Also, rotator cuff exercises can benefit arm strength immensely.
No, I am not a doctor or kinesiologist, but I did stay at a holiday inn last night.

In school there were ways to increase arm strength. But it’s terrible for your elbow. Like long tossing with a baseball or penny ball. But Cade also has plenty of arm strength. He throw a ball 55-60 yards in the air against unc. He may need to work on trajectory of the ball but like you said he has been fine. I read a report from David hood in a pregame that Cade was zipping all of his throws. Arm strength definitely isn’t a concern. People make mountains out of mole hills.

He definitely needs to improve arm strength. Some of his deeper balls have a bit too much arch. That will improve the stronger he gets

was practicing with the carbon steel football. More of a shot put than a spiral -- but really built up the old arm strength. But Cade will be good even without this subject matter expert technique.

Arm strength can be improved but he's not going to get DJ or Trevor's velocity (they are freaks).
That said, what he has is enough. Even with the moon balls he's pitching, with experience, those are going to be pretty home run balls with hopefully the WR on the end of it is taking it to the house or making a highlight play similar to what Cole Turner did in the past two games.

Good post glenjamin. The "moonball" is my biggest concern. Moonball is not a 50/50 ball attempt. Seems to put too much air under it on the long ball which seems to have it come up short at times. Just my two cents.

I don’t think his arm strength is a problem though. It’s more about trajectory (he currently throws a higher deep ball than we’d ideally like him to).
A lot of it has to do with mechanics, which can certainly be improved with good coaching.
I’m not worried about Cade.

He doesn't have the most conventional grip either. He doesn't grip the laces like most QB's which takes a bit off his throws. He does throw a pretty ball but I hope Riley gets him to trust gripping the laces so he can sling it with a little more oomph occasionally.

Where’d you get that from? On plays like the bubble screen, coaches tell you to get it out of your hand as fast as possible. You don’t take time to find the laces. On longer developing plays I’m sure he grips the laces.

Him being comfortable throwing without laces is one of his good qualities, your not going to be able to get to the laces every snap. He’s been taugh and is comfortable throwing it how he’s needed to.

Don’t remember any of the reviews from the Elite 11 that he won say anything about him having a lack of arm strength. As far as his deep ball having too much air under it, that’s not a sign of a weak arm and can be fixed with changing his release point. I’m actually glad he puts some touch on the ball and doesn’t throw a 90 mph fastball on some of those short passes like DJ did which were generally too hot to handle. The kid is going to be fine and his mobility is going to be a difference maker.

After reading all these posts on here re: Cade's lack of arm strength, he throws the long pass too high and he doesn't grip the laces, I am now convinced more than ever that Tnet is comprised of football illiterates who know little about football and nothing about throwing a football. CK2 is virtually identical to DW4 in every way, including arm strength. People should not voice opinions about things they have never done or know nothing about. They make themselves look ridiculous with this constant nitpicking.

QB. We've had arm strength and it doesn't really get you much if you don't have the other 3. Maybe in the NFL you have to have elite arm strength but in college you need to have the other 3.

247 High School scouting report on Cade:
"Good height with a lean, athletic, somewhat narrow build. Mechanics have noticeably improved with reps and experience. A natural at the position. Competitive but calm and poised. One of the most accurate passers in the class whose ball placement and touch stand out. Good pocket awareness with functional athleticism to extend plays when necessary. Good athlete when he gets loose in the open field. Increasingly impressive improvisational ability as an off-schedule playmaker. Varies velocities and touch deftly. Can make all the throws, whether over-the-middle, intermediate bullets, or field-stretching deep balls. Outstanding production vs. Texas Class 6A competition for state championship-caliber team. Impresses in live game action and elite camp settings. Competed in track and field (400 meters, triple jump, long jump) earlier in high school. No idea why we are talking about the arm strength of a guy we all saw heave it 65 yards in a game. I doubt DJ or TL ever had a pass cover more ground than that in the air while at Clemson.
