Monte is on the hot seat....

Wouldn’t be surprised if a move is made within the next 2-seasons. It doesn’t take 6-years to get ‘your’ guys in. Jack recruited at a high level; Monte hasn’t been able to do the same.

I agree with you ! Monte has had 6 years to get us back to the elite status but has not done that ! I really like him , but he just isn't getting it done . Sorry !

I’m not saying he isn’t on the hot seat....

But I’m not convinced we haven’t had the dudes.
Pitching and situational hitting are the two constant issues I’ve seen.
I feel like pitching is better this year than it has been, but hitting seems to be worse. Looks like we’re still swinging for the fences with everyone. IMO (LL Coach here- haha) I feel like we should let 2-3 guys swing away and the rest need to be hitting for contact and also use the bunt more especially with some of the speed we have.
What I will say is I feel like other coaches seem to do much more with much less. Monte is liked by everyone and that’s the tough part about this. His players love him, and I think most of the fans love him (myself included), but we have to start doing the little things better.

Kid I used to coach plays at USC Upstate and he told me

a story from this past week that kind of alludes to some of the things I am seeing w team.
Coach MacGuire at Upstae is a helluva a hitting coach first. His pitching staff watched the Tigers take BP at game and he asked the staff what they noticed and heard. Launch angle was consistent answer. The Tigers do try to swing for fences on every at bat and try to keep launch angle in the 23-27 range, which isn’t bad if you can consistently hit. Problem being uppercut swing all the time takes a way the line drive backside hits that are missing.
I know Monte is supposedly a hitting guru but I don’t see it myself.

I've alluded to the hitting problem over the past several years. It appears to me everyone is trying to hit the home run. I haven't watched the games this year but in the past I noticed our batters were dropping their shoulders and swinging up. Some of you older guys and girls may remember Nellie Fox of the Chicago White Sox. He was a solid singles hitter and played within his strengths. Our players appear to have trouble with a breaking ball and our staff fails to utilize the bunt as an offensive weapon.

From what I've seen this year our pitching has been pretty good.
Situational hitting has been bad, and I can't understand why baserunning is such a mystery to the Tigers. It's not hard to be a good base runner.
I'm hoping it gets better soon.

Coach Lee is a good baseball Coach and an even better person. The problem he is having right now is he is almost too caring of his players feelings. He has a young team and is trying to get at bats for a lot of guys. What this creates is a feeling of pressure by his players. " if I don't get a couple of hits or a home run today I'll be on the bench tomorrow ". Guys that play the next day feel the same way. It's a vicious cycle. Look at other top teams. The majority of at bats go to 8 to 10 guys not 16. He has talent on this team but some positions have similar players in size and skill sets who are in the same year of school. Would be better off if he had 4 to 6 guys that new they were going to be role players and not starting everyday but would run thru a wall if they had a clemson jersey on. Instead of expecting to start and being disappointed daily by a lineup card without their name on it. Sorry this was so long but it's been pent up.

He will be gone after this season if the ship is not righted quickly and the program stales. His departure would be like Leggett: stagnate/fail over win more/improve.
