It would be nice if the NFL teams came out and said we don't draft quitters.

POTD, IMO! I wish I could give you 1,000 pts., but I gave all I could give. It was 1, and it was only 1, but it was 1, but I gave everything I had to give. It was all I was allowed to give, but it was worth so much more! SO MUCH MORE!!!

NFL should step up and say, if you “opt out” on your college team, we’re opting out on taking you in the first round. I wonder what the chances of a player getting a major injury in a bowl game vs a major injury in practice or workouts is? I would guess the percentage would be very similar. Most ACL/MCL etc seem to come from non contact which can happen in the gym or practice field as easily as on game day.

The more I've thought about that play, the more I think that even under the current rules, he should have been called down. He started to slide, so he should have been down where his slide started, fake or not.

Correct. You start to slide, you are down where you START to slide. That’s the rule. That rule was ignored by the 7 blind men officiating the game. Everyone saw it. The commentators that only seem to see half the game, saw it immediately. The only people that DIDN’T see it were the 7 officials on the field.

Considering the QB they started separated his shoulder

On their first TD, I have no problem with his decision and I think his teammates are perfectly happy for him. I’m proud that Clemson didn’t have any players opt out this year but at some point it will happen and they have to make a personal choice. I personally like Pickett. I think he’s a really good and tough QB. I wish he would have played but obviously he wouldn’t be there in the box helping out if he didn’t care.
