Just read that Ray Anderson class of 74 passed away

Sep 27, 2022, 9:56 AM

I met Ray about 20 years ago when I was working on a project in North Charleston. He had been a special assistant to the Mayor for a long time. He was always warm and friendly every time I met him, including last month when Mickey came to Charleston to talk a little Tiger football. Rest in peace.

Ray was very active with the Clemson Board of Visitors, including previously serving as chairman. He was a Clemson gentleman and a fine human being. I am so glad I got that last hug from him two weeks ago.

Hate to hear that. The original Ray Ray. As good as they come. Outstanding ambassador to Clemson. Rest easy my friend and enjoy the games upstairs in comfort.

Such sad news! Ray was a great guy and certainly a Clemson man!

A True Tiger!

Ray was a true Tiger! He was dedicated to Clemson serving on several boards and was named Clemson’s volunteer of the year a few years back. I am glad our paths crossed several years ago and we became friends. I am better for having known him. My heart is broken over this loss.

My season tickets were beside Ray for 20 years, have known him for years, being from Hanahan myself, thought it was funny our seats were next to each other.Didn’t matter what time the game was , he drove up and back almost every game. He’ll be missed, God bless.
