Parking for Ga game

Jul 29, 2021, 12:48 PM

What are some lots people have purchased parking passes in for Georgia game. Looking on Park Whiz at available places, but don't want to be surrounded by Georgia fans

The LYNX train station at UNC Charlotte is just off I85 at the Harris Blvd exit. The JW Clay Station is on HWY 29 just north of the Harris Blvd intersection with 29. There's a LYNX Park & Ride just across HWY 29 from the station. The west side of the road also contains a number of shops including restaurants and the University Hilton where there should be parking availability as well. It's the closest station to I85 between there and downtown Chlt. If you're coming from SC, getting to stations south of downtown would likely require taking I77 and then getting to those along South BLVD to avoid downtown traffic on game day. Not familiar with any stations and parking on the south side. However, IMO the ride between there and downtown at night would be safer compared to that from the north side through the North Tryon area unless a number of other fans also go that way.

in a Parking Deck @ 720 S Church St . . . Not ideal, but close enough to BOA Stadium.

Did that one year, close to stadium, easy walk. After game, spent about 2 hours waiting to get out. Never again??

Parking in 1025 S Cedat lot. Looked like a big grassy lot on google maps.

We always park at 1020 west Morehead, right off 77. Open field, they let you tailgate, and if you have multiple cars you can park together. $20-$30 cash when you arrive. Easy to get back on interstate.

We’ve been to all the ACCCG games in Charlotte since the 2015 UNC game. Used ParkWhiz for all parking. But you might want to check the lot you select for on-site security AFTER THE GAME STARTS.

Most lots have someone onsite to ensure only those with paid passes enter; you need to know that once everyone leaves for the game, the lot people leave too! Almost none of the lots have secure fencing or onsite security until after the game ends. Especially troubling for night games (as they all are!).

Returned to our lot after the Virginia game and several vehicles had windows broken out (see pics) and items stolen from the vehicles. Police were called and basically said there are lots of druggies in downtown and this is not uncommon.

I reached out to Patkwhiz afterwards and basically was told it’s not their lot and not their responsibility! I checked with an attorney and was informed that unless they take your keys and or vehicle and create a bailment liability, they are not liable.

So, check as some of the lots do provide security until after the game. Otherwise consider the risk and your insurance deductible as the cost of attending the game!

Go Tigers
