Just got the call from my dad I've been dreading

My mom passed away overnight after an over 2 year battle with melanoma. She seemed pretty healthy right up until a few months ago, then things went rapidly downhill. She was in the hospital for the last three weeks heading into Christmas, then was finally released to hospice last Thursday. Even then, she didn't seem to be doing that badly, but I guess the blood transfusions she was being given at the hospital were keeping her alive. She was 58. Melanoma sucks.
For those of you who are praying folks, please pray especially for my dad. I don't think he ever imagined he'd be in this situation at this point in his life, and he's always been a family man first.

Unfortunately...I know those feels way too well, since my mom passed away from melanoma right before Christmas two years ago at 65. I know we joust in the lounge a good bit, but I like to believe we're all decent people at the end of the day. Family and such. Shoot me a tmell if you want any additional advice or input I might be able to offer, particularly on your dad. My dad is the most stoic guy you'll ever meet, but he misses mom something fierce even if he doesn't talk about it very often. I do my best to keep him busy and moving forward, even if Ineligible User thinks certificates of authenticity are stupid.

I'm still a little bit in shock, I guess. And trying to deal with how to take care of what I can while I live pretty far away. At least my little brother still lives in the same area as my dad.

My dad contracted melanoma on bottom of one foot (Strange) and was able to eliminate it thanks to docs at Duke. He passed away less than 10yrs later from parkinsons. Take care of dad!

just jounging, my mom passed away 8 years ago at 55, it ain't fun and time does actually make it better, there is nothing anyway can say or do to make it feel any better, so i figured a good ole fashioned classless t-net post would help you out with a smile today
