Just got done watching the UGA spring game

my lord, they suck on defense. I know their squads were split up, but this UGA secondary and Linebackers look skinny, slow, and can not tackle.
If Kirby starts JT Daniels(interception machine) over Brock Vandagriff, he might as well just go ahead and forfeit at the coin toss. They do have some nice weapons and their Oline looks legit, but we would have to turn it over about 4-5 times to lose this one.-
This is going to be ugly.

UGA will not suck on defense. Offense has been their problem. To be more specific, Smart is a "D" guy and has had trouble opening up the offense. He wants too, but in a game goes too conservative. Like all teams, he wants to run the ball and do short passes. He will not gamble like Saban or Dabo.
Last season us Tigers had less way to open the field. With some or all of Ladson, Ngata, and Ross playing, the offense will look more like years before 2020.
Daniels is a talented QB and will be the starter. He has a lot of experience. UGA should have started him last year. They have receivers, but will Smart use them in a tight game -> history says not.
Basically Tigers win because we will score more than Smart's conservative offense (no matter the QB) can.

Venables gets that kid behind the sticks, it is pick city. I am not seeing the arm strength to squeeze that ball into tight windows, and he under-throws the deep ball A LOT. but then again I just watched their spring game and his debut against a pitiful Miss State defense last year.

I am just looking at your QB and his lack of arm strength. This won't go well for him. You guys may be able to dink and dunk, then run for a couple of quarters, but Venables will put all of that to bed.

Clemson is 2-3 in their last 5 games vs top 10 teams. Wins over ND and Miami. Losses to LSU, ND, and OSU. Go back and look at the yardage the Tiger defense gave up in those losses. Those teams didn't recruit better than Clemson. What would lead you to believe BV is going to put anything to bed?

Excuse me? How many titles has your dawgs won in the last 3 decades? That's what I thought. We play the best and sometimes we win and sometimes the other team wins. Fact is you have played in 1 CFP and choked that away. Go back to your dog house and chew on your milk bone.

Its just for show......they're just tinkering around with this and that.
Come gameday they will have what they will have. Kirby will try some things if he is comfortable with how things are going or if he gets desperate.
The game has to be won in the trenches point blank. Capitalize on their mistakes and try not to get bullied and worn down by their running game.
The improvement of JT Daniels is going to be key as well. Clemson and Venables has to find a way to get to him and disrupt their running game.

The numbers with Daniels in the offense are clearly better. I don't think the guy is the next Peyton Manning but with the way UGA can typcially run the ball, he doesn't need to be. I think it's pretty clear he gives UGA their best passing threat since Aaron Murray.
The vulnerabilites for both teams are in the secondary. At the corners for UGA and safeties for Clemson.

The UGA defense is always solid and this year will be the same. The secondary is down but Smart is using the portal to bring in more talent. Georgia does not often loose due to defense. This is a top 5 team.
The Tiger "D" is going to be a step up this year as in "awesome"! UGA has a solid "O" line. The game may play out there. Can they protect Daniels -> nope.

UGA might start the season with the best "D" line in college football. The Tiger "O" line was "very good" but not "great" last season.
Unlike last year, Tigers will have "targets" all over the field. DJU is a "pro style" who can get them the ball. The great UGA "D" line will have little time to prosper. It will be up to the secondary. Will the UGA secondary be up to the Tiger receivers --> nope.

You might want to do your research on Travon Walker, Adam Anderson and Nolen Smith, your QB will be running for his life all evening. You will have zero run game, as not one of your RBs would make the 3 deep at UGA so the above boys will be teeing off all evening. Not one of Clemsons D-line or LB would start at UGA. Clemson will get smoked just like the last two play-off games. Your O-line is crap and not a one of them would make the 3 deep at UGA. Hell UGA 3rd string O-line would start at tater, see Clay Webb. You guys would kill to have Broderick Jones and Amarius Mims on your roster and they are 2nd string at UGA.

Go through each position and tell me were tater is superior? QB is a push and Ross is a superior WR. Bresee is an excellent DT but he's not Davis or even Jalen Carter. Simpson is an excellent LB but he ain't Quay Walker or Tindal and couldn't hold Nakobe Dean's joke strap. I have mad respect for tater's program and will be sharing the game with several Tater alums in Charlotte. Go Dawgs!!

Haven’t you notice the pattern between our two programs? One never does anything and the other always does? You doggy fans are the easiest targets. Coming here talking about “position” who ya got... Dude, nothing matters until they line up and my money is on the team with a winning tradition. UGay does not compute........

You’re funny. And also poorly informed. Six years running, Clemson has made the playoffs. You say that is easy because of the schedule. Okay. That means we should lose each time we enter and play ‘real’ teams.....but, how has that worked out? Who has Clemson beaten in those six years? Look it up before you spew BS. 1980 was a long long long time ago.

I think the real kicker is that Clemson generally comes out the gates swinging on offense, where it takes UGA a little while to figure out who they are. That will be the difference in this one. Well that, and your QB still pats the ball before he throws, not a shocker Kirby hasn't corrected this. I mean who does this at a power 5 skewel?

According to Cheezer, UGA is staffed up to make another run at a Spring National Championship!
And who can dispute the Dawgs will excel? Before summer practices and Kirby's annual inputs on the Offense, the Dawgs again look unbeatable.

Terribly....and that’s not a testament to how good your DL is because they aren’t very good. Smart’s postition coaches cannot develop DL to save their life. They will play well in our game because our OL is awful.l from Center to the 2 Guards.

That will be a match-up where you have a decided advantage. But it will not matter, I do not see us trying to run it up the gut, our offense is geared to exploit what you give us all day, and we have the QB to run it. We will also take enough shots downfield to keep you honest, and if you have been paying attention over the years, we win these matchups more often than not.

We all get it , you are part of the many very jealous Georgia fans . Hell if I were a fan of a school with such a let down over the last 40 plus years I guess I would be jealous as well. Keep on being the recruiting school that you are and keep being Doing Less More U . It is fun to watch on this end ! Also please keep Kirby for many years , it is fun watching a recruiter that can not coach .

Few clarifying notes:
- On JT Daniels, you are partially correct. His deep ball is very inconsistent due to poor mechanics. He's got a very strong arm, but his lower body mechanics on the deep ball are less than ideal. Rather than the traditional way of stepping into a throw and driving through from the ground up, he tries to time "popping" his front leg with his release. When he hits the timing, he throws an adequate deep ball, but more often than not it comes up a little short.
- Where JT Daniels excels is in the short to intermediate throws and knowing what to do with the ball both pre and post snap. He is elite in his knowledge of the playbook and what opposing defenses are trying to do. Below is a spring game example of identifying the coverage and throwing a dime to one of the true FR WRs.
- As to the defense, the front seven will be as good as any other in all of college football. One thing you will notice that is a little different than prior UGA defenses is that the DL will start to play 1 gap more often than 2 gap allowing the strength of the defense, the DL, to create more havoc.
_ In the secondary, the safeties are good and experienced, but the corners lack game time experience. UGA will try to cover up the youth in the backend by unleashing the pass rush. This will be the key to the game IMO. Can Clemson's OL give their QB enough time to exploit the youth at CB? Will be interesting to see.
