Don't post hardly ever, but in in all of this stuff about Coach Venables, I think that I have missed any discussion about Clemson's efforts to retain him, like some type of counter offer.As valuable as he was, I'd think that there would have been some attempt made to keep him around. Any insight??

The way with this story has bloomed, I'm thinking that that Dabo didn't have a chance to make a counter offer. BV wasn't OU's 1st, or 2nd choice, he was their 3d, or 4th choice. David Hood probably new the OU plane was headed to Greenville before Dabo new anything about it!!!!

what kinda counter offer could CU offered him to make him stay? "brent, if you'll turn down (probably in the range of) 8-10 million a year being the head coaching position at oklahoma, we'll bump your pay to 3-4 million and you can stay a coordinator... how bout it?

Also, Dabo has said many times that he would never stand in the way of any coach getting a great opportunity elsewhere. Head Coach at Oklahoma certainly fits this description.
