Josh Pate

Oct 25, 2022, 9:18 AM

I've been listening to his podcast, and other than his extremely irritating pronunciation of Clemson, I have found to be entertaining, having interesting perspectives and having hands down the best oratory skills of anyone in sports. Any of you guys see him becoming a bigger player the sports TV arena?

I mean he is so well spoken. He's way easier to listen than Stephen A, Cowherd etc etc. Would be a breath of fresh air-especially if he can learn the correct pronunciation of one word. Lol

I listened to him on YouTube last night talking about the Clemson-Syracuse game. I agree with you, he is much easier to listen to than most TV sports people. He was also fair-minded in his analysis of the game, which I appreciated. I haven't listened to anything else he has put out there, so he may still be a jerk or an SEC homer, but at least for this one podcast, he was good.

I would love to see Josh become more prominent

but something tells me he is not willing to kiss the bared bottoms that will be placed in the path to success at a place like ESPN.

He has said things about Clemson that I liked and didn't like. Trouble is I pretty much had to agree with him about all of them. There have been a couple of times he said things that turned out to be downright wrong. Well, guess what? He came right back on his next podcast and said, "I was wrong."

You don't hear that often.

I actually think he is doing that odd pronunciation on purpose. He has commented on “Clem-zen” before on the show. He is fun to watch, definitely feels like a conversation with a friend that knows college football. Very accessible.

I listened to him for the first time last night when I was scrolling through YouTube content. I was very impressed with his knowledge, ability to articulate his thoughts, and he seems to be a generally overall good guy who has a passion for college football. I’ll be watching more of his videos on YouTube.

He certainly has the talent...

.... to be in main stream sports media.

But, his role would have to change. I have no idea what his career goals are. But, then, who knew Clay Travis would want to become the next Rush Limbuagh?

Rule for life. Don't waste time listening to whatever Pod Casts are or to people that get paid to talk and stir the pot.

He is on 97.7 The Fan

He comes on each week on Wednesday or Thursday on Offsides with Marc Ryan on 97.7 The Fan Upstate. They talk about college football and different games every week. It is a great segment to listen to each week.

I must live under a rock. I have no idea who he is and no imterest in googling him. To me, all those guys are just mouths moving on TV with the mute on.

He’s the only guy I listen to anymore, of course he has his biases but will own them and also admit when he’s wrong. He doesn’t follow narratives which is refreshing in these times, really hoping people keep dropping msm and going to independent media.

He is pretty good but definitely has a Sec slant

Josh is:

* long winded but good analysis overall.

* seems to like SEC a-lot (why not) but likes BiG10 & Pac too; Acc less.

* Needs a new T-shirt or maybe a golf shirt! Ha..

* Must work out (check out the arms & chest).

* Likes to open show by telling us he's coming to us from high up on top of Nashville TN.
