How the heck do you have a list like this and not have Jerry Butler on it? Are we too old? Is that ancient history now? Come on. Remember the ones that paved the way before you.

Butler's catch against USC alone is enuf to put him on that list. Also, when NFL scout came to time him at Clemson after his last season, he was clocked at 4.19....and he ran in blue jeans!

I seriously doubt that Jerry butler ran a 4.19 in jeans. Jacoby ford ran a 4.24 and he was a national champion sprinter in track cleats and spandex

why do you not want to hear him call Clemson games? He's always been a friend to Clemson, coined the term "most exciting 25 seconds in college football" and is an official member of the Esso Club.

with Mike Williams top 5 and 7-10. Mike Williams has had a few plays but no more than Airese Currie at this point. And 7- 10 is very much orange tinted nostalgia. All Rhoulac could catch was an uppercut from Terrance Flagler... LOL... pretty good athlete, some toughness and MUCH more mouth than gifts as a receiver, but Keith Jennings was a much better receiver than Rhoulac but he was actually a tight end who didn't want to grow up and no longer be a receiver...

How are you going to put mike Williams ahead of a guy that left clemson as the acc career receptions leader?! How are you going to put make Williams ahead of a 2 time all-American ROSCOE CROSBY?!?! Won't even go there

Not even close. Jerry Butler has to be at worst #2... maybe #1. He was a consensus 1st Team All American, the first WR taken in the NFL Draft, the #5 overall pick in the NFL Draft, NFL Rookie of the Year, and made Pro Bowl teams.
I'm pretty #### sure nobody but Sammy Watkins can even hold a candle to that... MAYBE. We'll see.

The best ones all should have a "Catch" that separates them
Dec 17, 2015, 8:00 PM
|
|
Jerry Butler ("THE Catch!") Rod Gardner (Yep ... "The Push-off", LOL) Nuk Hopkins (4th & 16? Of course) Perry Tuttle (Put the icing on our Orange Bowl cake) Sammy Watkins (Trucked that poor Dawg on the way to the EZ, and many others)
Loved Aaron Kelly, but what we remember most was the big one he "almost" had versus BC. Simply got to have Jerry Butler instead.

out of the air!
I have always thought that the clip where he is in "a footrace to the endzone" and high stepping, that he was toying with them to make the highlight reel.
That was my favorite WR clip of all time until Scott's tight rope down the sideline against USuC!

The most dominant, and least used, to ever wear orange was Benny Cunningham....but they never had him in the game plan. 20 catches a year?!!! I saw 5 gamecocks struggle to tackle him on one play...together!! DOMINANT for forgotten.
