Jeremiah Trotter, Jr

Does anyone have any recent news or coach interviews on his progress? He had a solid game against SC State and it looks like he starts/plays on special teams as he has played in all 8 games this year. He has the look of a chiseled senior and was the number one linebacker by some services last year. I really expected to see him a little more on defense this year? Any word/insight?

Idk but I sure hope BV doesn’t try and put Bentley back in coverage on a WR anymore. He’s a great run stuffer but doesn’t have any kind of coverage skills.

He is not the only LB who has been stuck on covering a WR. Never works.

Good point. Any idea why he's not listed as a MIKE (middle) lb? When you draw up the prototype run stuffer that can shed blocks and deliver a big lick you have L Bentley. Wonder why he's stuck out of position at WILL - he's not a coverage guy? If Bentley did play MIKE it would move Trotter up to third string. Oddly, this is the player that Dabo said was their one "must have" in the last class.

lots of depth at LB position. Also BV system they say is hard to pick up. He will be playing next season a lot I think.

He’s one of the most gifted players on the team.

Early on, I think it’s been a combination of him learning the playbook and also having veteran starters ahead of him on the depth chart. He’s looked pretty impressive every time we’ve seen him this year.

Bottomline is Skalski and Spector are mentoring these young LB's but also took away their p.t. Tough Clemson D has really brought it again this year with little help and deserves all the accolades they get. Hopefully, Trotter and Carter with Bresee, Davis & Murphy can keep it going in 2022!
