JByrd and Bryson Nimmer tied for lead in Puerto Vallarta

A young Mexican amateur, Jose Antonio Safa, is playing in the Mexican Open.
About 11 years ago, I played a round of golf with his dad and older brother at their home club in Torreón, MX while I was on a business trip.
Young Safa now plays for Missouri Tigers.
The Safa parents knew of my Clemson connections and asked if the older son might be able to play at Clemson. I did make some calls to see if the staff was looking at MX players but they were not. The older son did get to play at a small Texas college.

The Safas were customers of mine as they own a chemical company; very nice people!

Last time I played with Jonathan he was not feeling good and only had only one drink afterwards. I carried the team that day.
