Jordan Addison

Isn’t even in the portal yet and USC had already offered a massive NIL deal he’s now expected to transfer. College football is over, if I were Pitt I would sue USC for everything I could for tampering which is still ILLEGAL

Ain't enough money in the world for a player to want to go to the coots. Lol

USC is in Southern California and Carolina is in Chapel Hill. You’ll never hear me calling the coots either one lol

Re: J.Addison / College football's collapse has begun

Apr 30, 2022, 12:14 PM

Here's yet another piece of the puzzle in the pending collapse of college ... and this includes the "big name / big money" teams such as real USC, Alabama, UGA, aTm, Texas, OH State, Michigan, N.Dame, Miami, Oregon, etc. etc.

The FANS of the "also ran" teams like the Pittsburgh, UVA, Kentucky, Maryland, Iowa, etc. of the college world will face the fact that their team has no chance of competing against the 'top teams' ... because the "also ran" teams' best players will transfer to the "big name / big money" teams.

With this realization that they cannot POSSIBLY, NEVER EVER compete against the "big name / big money" teams, the fans of the "also ran" teams will abandon following college football in droves.

Furthermore, the majority of college football games are not among just the "big name" teams playing each other.

That will lead to lower ratings for college football games for all the colleges (including the "big name / big money" teams).

College football will return to one 'Game of the Week' type of programming when the majority of the fans have 'left' college football and have moved to other forms of sports entertainment.

THEN, with football being diminished by most colleges, the next consequence is that the 'value market' for HS athletes for FB will be diminished. That will lead to fewer / lower caliber athletes at the HS football level ... in turn leading to lower skills / FB ability to play for ALL COLLEGES (including the "big name" teams).

The death spiral has begun.

I think your sources are off. USC technically haven’t offered him anything. He is child hood friends with Caleb Williams. Both grew up in the DC area. Williams has probably been in his ear about all the sweet deals they have out there. It sucks but there’s loopholes in everything.

I think you sadly are right about the fate of college

football. However, I don't think there is anything Pitt can do for recourse. There are no rules now. It's unrestricted free agency 24/7, 365 days a year and there is no salary cap. It's pro football if pro football had no restrictions in place.
