Jack Leggett= Toxic and The Worst

The recent article in the State Newspaper about Jack Leggett was disgusting. A plain loser and a jealous person is what he is. He was WAY over the hill to be our baseball coach any longer. He means nothing to Clemson Baseball anymore. He is null and void and what I would consider to be one of the WORST coaches in Clemson History. One day he will let it go that he got FIRED! The best thing DRad ever did was FIRE JACK LEGGETT on June 4, 2015. We are a much better program under the direction of Monte Lee. Now lets go win this weekend! We are headed to Omaha and Jack can sit back and enjoy.

As usual you seem to have missed the OP's point. If you want to discus who is the better coach between the two then you should start a new thread. The point of this thread is JL is a whiner with no class. He claims to love Clemson yet continually trashes us in the media. Unlike Danny Ford who was also fired he has no respect for the new coach by constantly hanging around the program. People get fired every day be they dont hang out at the former employer's establishment or constantly whine about the situation.
I suspect the lack of self control & integrity he has shown since being let go had a lot to do with why he was let go.

Lack of self control and integrity? #### I missed something. Not sure what the big deal with a former coach coming to watch baseball games. Danny watches football games what does it hurt or matter. Relationship must not be as bad as some say if he still comes around. Fill me in on the gossip never heard of the man’s integrity being questioned.

Leggett was a very good coach who was unfortunately on the downhill side of his career the last few years at Clemson. It would be nice if Clemson could someday recognize him for his long, successful coaching career, but he does need to put aside the resentment and hurt feelings from being let go.
Lee really needs to have a good season this year. Hopefully you are right about Omaha... I will temper my expectations for a few more weeks right now.

While I agree it was time for a change, Jack is a Clemson legend who had a great run and should be recognized as such. Both sides need to mature. Clemson needs to recognize Jack for the things he accomplished and Jack needs to let go of his bitterness.

with grace and dignity. I watched all the NCAA WS games that we lost when I think we should have won a number of those. I don't think either the program, Clemson athletics or Leggett ever got over being beaten twice in WS games when all they had to do was win one game.
With that being said, not sure how he got sideways with DRad but it happens. Sometimes it's better to be liked by all and not win (Brownell). You sometimes get to keep your job longer.

Mvp award or son. Yes I think it was time for him to be let go but maybe in different way. We didn’t hear anything about it. D rad doesn’t or didn’t care anyway about baseball. I hope for monte success but leash needs to be shorter here at clemson for baseball especially. This wouldn’t fly at other places even sc I bet Kingston soon gone. Both are rich programs and once a lot of people were proud of. Now struggling getting people to games. We got called by iptay if we had any friends that wanna buy season tickets. Got called again right after first few games and they said they lowered season tickets. Anyway back to leggett. Yes he was a good coach and people say he isn’t. Idk what game you watched. He is amongst the bests. Lucky to have him. Wish they would honor him and other previous guys. Isn’t this suppose to be family? Seems like we’re keeping some out. Leggett, Khalil Greene I can name some others that should be recognized more or be reached out to. So many greats through this program and others. I also think some of that falls on marketing department and alumni groups and all involved.

Jack did get recognized in the Valley for something this year, but cannot remember what it was for.

So, do you know Jack or are you just making assumptions based on what you've read? Maybe it was time for him to move on, but it should have been in a more respectful manner. I had no idea that it was such an unceremonious, out-the-door type of ending. The man produced a lot of winners and a lot of good players during his 20+ years as Clemson's head coach. I appreciate it.

Jack enjoyed great success with Tim and Sully recruiting and loving on those kids. Jack was not great recruiter or game manager and Jack wanted to be Clemson baseball coach but didn’t want the grunt work. He had a strong ego and was best looking out for and promoting Jack. I’m pretty sure no noticeable improvement with letting him go and getting current guy.

Dan Scott had Jack on his show shortly after his house had burned down. Several callers offered their condolences. Jack was so rude about it. Instead of saying thank you he stopped one guy in mid sentence and told him to please respect my privacy I'm here to talk baseball. Clemson is better off without him regardless of who the coach is.
