Any fans of Ivermectin out there, as the cure for COVID?

This is the latest version of hydroxychloroquine, as far as I can tell.

What I'm wondering is: Are the same people who believe in Ivermectin the same ones who DON'T believe in the vaccine?

I've used Ivermectin.

It works on things like rosacea and other skin ailments.

My question is: Why would someone turn down the vaccine that has been proven to be effective, while taking a shot on Ivermectin which hasn't?

there is no emergency use authorization if there are alternate treatments/cures available. Thus the suppression of HCQ and Ivermectin. Call me a white trash redneck,ZFG.But by all means, mask up, and run out for your next booster.Bif pharma loves you and cares about your health, really they do.

Ivermectin helps, as does Hydroxychloroquine

This is most likely going to be a TLDR, haha. I had Covid in early June of last year. My son is a physician and prescribed me HCQ, Z pack antibiotics, vitamin D, and zinc. I had a relatively mild case and I give credit to my son and what was prescribed. The key with HCQ is that is has to be started early to be effective. The CDC studies with HCQ started treatment with hospitalized patients. That is too late.

If you recall, India was all over the news a few months ago with dramatic increases in cases. Now you don't hear a peep. The reason is that Ivermectin was added to the treatment protocol and given as a preventative.
This is what happened to cases in the areas that chose Ivermectin from April 20 to May 29:

Delhi : - 97% [28,395 to 956]
Uttar Pradesh: ¯ 95% [37,944 to 2,014]
Goa: - 85% [4195 to 645]
Karnataka: - 60% [50,112 to 20,378]
Uttarakhand: - 87% [9,642 to 1,226]

Areas that DID NOT choose Ivermectin:
Tamil Nadu 173% [10,986 to 30,016]
Odisha 50% [4,761 to 7,148]
Assam 240% [1,651 to 5,613]
Arunachal Pradesh 656% [ 61 to 461]
Tripura 828% [92 to 854]

This information is actively censored on social media and not disclosed by the CDC. I assume it is because of the billions of dollars it would cost the vaccine companies.

Given the censorship, where did you get the information?

Also, it sounds like you don't trust vaccine companies. Do you trust Merck, which manufactures Ivermectin?

The information did not come from social media (which would have suppressed it) or the CDC.

Ivermectin has a long history of being a safe drug.

No, I don't trust pharmaceutical companies. Merck, for example, supressed safety problems with its arthritis medication Vioxx. The company ended up paying billions of dollars to governments and individuals to resolve thousands of lawsuits related to its actions.

Merck manufactures covid vaccines for Johnson and Johnson.

My main point was how cases decreased with the use of ivermectin. India has a population of almost 1.4 billion. According to the Economic Times, India had 354 deaths in the last 24 hours. That seems to fit with your numbers. Active covid cases are the lowest in 156 days.
I don't know about their vaccine administration and how that has affected any numbers.

Are these stats from the Zerohedge article?

While they look impressive, I would treat these with a grain of salt. Local reports are saying that more than 4M people have died since Delta took hold. But the government is preventing the numbers from creeping out so as not to undermine their leadership as well as the business community still looking at India as a partner.

So are your stats right? I don't know. Are my stats right? I don't know. What i figure is it somewhere in the middle. I have business partners that are there and from what they say it's really really bad. I don't know a single Indian national that hasn't lost a close family member in the last 2 months. Seriously. But yes, there are over 1B people there so this is just anecdotal evidence as well.

The medicines they are trying hopefully help but there are such shortages of everything there, it is just seeing what sticks and i don't believe there is rigorous controls over how the medicines were taken and used as presented in the stats below.

So it's anyone's guess.

I think the vaccine and ivermectin are both effective.

Aug 24, 2021, 2:08 PM

I think people are stupid not to get the vaccine.*

*Exceptions are people with prior infection with COVID-19 with recent proof of COVID-19 antibodies, people who have a history of anaphylaxis with vaccines, and people who are not eligible for the vaccine (based on age and/or guidance from their personal physician).

With that said, ivermectin has been shown in vitro to kill COVID-19:

https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0166354220302011

A study released in January 2021 found a significant reduction in COVID-19 complications in those who took ivermectin, compared to those who did not:

https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0006291X20319598

To suggest that it can't possibly be effective is silly based on the fact that science shows that it does have anti-COVID effects. The crusade to squelch ivermectin as a COVID treatment is done out of concern that people won't get the vaccine if they believe ivermectin works. That's pretty dumb if the focus is to keep people from getting sick and dying from COVID.

In a perfect world, we would have a huge human trial to study ivermectin in COVID-19. That won't ever be funded on any reasonable scale, because ivermectin is generic, cheap, and offers no advantage for a company to fund.

Ivermectin is incredibly safe with an excellent side effect profile. It has been around for decades. Why not use it? The same goes for vitamin D and zinc. Even if these aren't magic cure-alls, if they are safe and they are likely to help, the pros greatly outweigh the cons and they should be used.

So the issue is

prevention versus treatment

- Prevention: Getting the vaccine significantly reduces your chances of being a symptomatic covid case and going to a hospital. And virtually eliminates the chance of being in an ICU and dying.

- Treatment: Ivermectin, Regereon, and the rest are treatments for when you get sick. Likely they are helpful but the key is when do you take them. As stated in this thread, IVR and REG both need to be taken ASAP, once COVID gets a hold of you, their effectiveness decreases significantly the longer you wait.

So on the treatment side of things, we are asking a group of people, who are already are skeptical Covid exists, to be aware enough of when to get treatments so it then becomes a guessing game.

Prevention is FAR AND AWAY the best, and cheapest course of action. It saves the most lives. It improves your quality of life long term. Treatments are putting a band aide on the cut. Hopefully it works but it takes time, resources and a bit of luck.

I agree 100%.

It angers me that more people don't support BOTH.

The vaccine works. It's safe. Getting it should be a no-brainer, with few exceptions.

But this campaign to discount other interventions, especially those which are cheap and exceedingly safe when used properly, is maddening. I get it, the authorities don't want to say anything to encourage people not to get vaccinated. But why aren't more medical providers at least talking to patients about ivermectin, vitamin D, and zinc? It's criminal.

As you said, these conversations between provider and patient should take place quickly, at the first signs of COVID, not when patients are in the hospital needing supplemental oxygen.

Israel -- one of the top countries in per capita vaccinated
India -- less than 10% of population vaccinated but allegedly using ivermectin widely as a prophylactic in some states.

The green line is Israel. The blue line is India.

I work at a vets office and one of our doctors uses ivermectin monthly as a preventative. He has had covid and it hit him hard. He is not vaccinated either. He believes is works from studies he has researched.
