Outside of Aikman and Murray, Rattler has the most talent of any qb to wear an OU uniform . He's got special talent. If he gets in the right program he will shine. He showed last year what he can do. Riley knew in September he was leaving and benched him because he didn't want to coach anymore.
I do not know of SC is that right program, but he is an absolute upgrade for them. I like Rattler as a player, but he lacks leadership skills. If Beamer can bring those qualities out in him then I think they could have a very good season next year.
Oh and Stogner is a stud.

I'm very confused.
Riley was planning to leave so he benched a veteran starter and inserted a true freshman because he didn't want to coach anymore?
How is inserting a rookie with no experience going to decrease the amount of coaching Riley would have to do?
Also what is your explanation for how much harder the guys around the QB played when Williams was inserted into games?
It was quite clear they hit another gear for Williams that they weren't giving for Rattler.

Agree he is a talent, but leadership is a quality that is hard to teach. You seem to either have it or not.

You don't bench your starting QB because he may be leaving at the end of the year. Much of what you are saying is just not accurate.

Saying Rattler is OU's 3rd best QB ever behind Aikman and Murray proves you have lost your mind.
What I've said about Rattler since his freshman year: He can spin the ball but the problem is between his ears. Pressure and stress ruin him and cause him to make very bad decisions. When they play good, active defenses, he crumbles and loses his confidence too easily.
I said on this forum it was the joke of the century he was the preseason Heisman frontrunner.
The fact Rattler failed under Lincoln Riley is all we need to know about how good he is. Think about it.
However, on top of that, the lack of demand for his services in the portal from top programs is more evidence he's not all that. Choosing a backwater school like USCe reflects some amount of desperation on his part IMO.
USCe's O-line and receivers better be very good next year.
I will admit he's an upgrade from what they usually have at QB, but that isn't saying much.

Bro I’m sorry. But while I’m not a OK fan and haven’t watched near as many QBs at OU as you but if you think Rattler is more talented than Baker and Murray you are just blind. I did watch those guys and they have the intangibles you can’t coach. They are gamers and know what to do when the play breaks down. They see the field like very few can. Rattler isn’t on that level. I don’t care what kind of arm talent he’s got. Rattler will not be an NFL QB. Take that to the bank.
Is he an upgrade for SC? Yes. I mean that’s not hard to do. I’m sure he’ll upgrade them enough to get them to 7-8 wins next year. But that’s probably their ceiling with him for 2022.
Problem with him is he’s immature, self centered, and bad teammate. I thought baker was a POS but this dude makes Baker look like a great guy.

I think he would have shined in an offense like Oregon, USC, Ohio St. I dont see how he does much of anything with the weapons he has now. The only guy that could save S Carolina is maybe prime michael vick.
