I've heard favorable reactions --- UPDATED

|

Update: Not sure how I omitted Wellers, or Blade and Bow (a new favorite). B/c that put my list at 9, I added a 10th, Michters.
from the JD Single barrel select. I may have to pick me up a bottle as I keep hearing only good things.
My favorites, in order, are:
*Blanton's **Makers Mark Private Select Makers 46 (for the dollar, I think this is some of the best Bourbon out there) Eagle Rare Wellers Elijah Craig Small batch Buffalo Trace 1792 Blade and Bow Michters
*I also have a bottle of Blanton's Straight from the cask. Smoothest 128 proof ever. Shockingly smooth. You'd think you was sipping something closer to 100.
** Each Private Select bottle is different from another store as each store that has their own bottles creates their own flavor profile. Mac's in Midtown Atlanta (the first bottle that I ever had) came out at 98 proof and was some of the best bourbon I ever had. The next batch, despite have the same Stave combination, came out hotter at 108. It was still good but the hotness change the taste a bit too much. I would suggest picking up any bottles of this if you see it, especially if you see the recipe as Seared French Cuvée (note of oak & caramel) and Baked American Pure (notes of Brown sugar, vanilla, caramel).

Funny you should ask...
Bookers runs Hot. Even at 127 (2020 release), I thought it had too much heat and burned too much.
I liked Basil Haydens better, but even that wasn't in my top 10, and gave me headaches the next morning each time.

I see that you have a collectable in the Dale Earnhardt bottle, or it would be for me!!! Even after 20 years, I still get choked up when I see that black #3 sitting on the apron in turns 3 and 4 and knowing that my favorite driver ever since he started driving that #15 wrangler car, and now he was dead, and it broke my heart, and it still bothers me even today!!!

Yep, AllOrange, might call me a fan. I've lived on Earnhardt Dr for near 30yrs. Best souvenir I have is a winner's circle chevy cap that were given out in victory lane in the 80's & 90's. This one is from the '98 Daytona and signed by the man.

If you stumble across some Jefferson's Reserve give it a try. It's lower on the abv side, which I know puts some off, but it is so good.

I've had Jefferson's Ocean, the stuff that's aged at sea. It was good but a little pricey.

I like ocean aged, but reserve blew it away. Unfortunately it too is pricey at around $55-60. But man is it good

I 99% drink beer but collect liquor. When the grid goes down and Zombies attack, they will be worth more than gold. I like those in fancy bottles to decorate my RedNeck Bar. My Bride gave me a bottle of PAPPY VAN WINKLE that I can't afford to open.
