For our next National Championship

Our experience overall will be the difference . I think back to our first attempt during this stretch and how Saban's experience caught Dabo off guard . How we had some busts defensively , missed alignments and the like . Gave up some unnecessary yardage and got scored on in special teams . How their team's sharp performance affected ours , causing at times just enough of a disruption to muddy what we were trying to do . We were really good then , but we needed another year to become great . We were close .
I feel like LSU is on a heck of a ride . Going unbeaten to a " home field " advantage in the National Championship game . They're on a high right now and can't come down it seems . I just have the sense that what we are now is a greater version of what we were in 2015 against Alabama , we were like they are now . Giddy , but not quite as polished as you need to be when you're facing a team and a staff that's been there and done it.
Gonna be a heck of a game .
Go Tigers !

The anticipation for this game is unreal. All I’ve been doing is reading up and breaking some things down about LSU. I also think that our coaches experience and in game adjustments will be a big factor in this game. May have to steal a possession or two. BV will be the C factor in this game. SPOT THE BALL!!

I think Simmons will be far more important in coverage than in sacks. The other LBs are going to be the blitz monsters.

You are right. Ever since that game we have had the upper hand in coaching 99% of the time. BV will have to coach his best game schematically this go around, just like he did last year vs bama.

BV will squeeze the life out of them. Aranda’s defense won’t be able to reciprocate.

Not the right color scheme . It's funny though , our company's owner is a " Johnny Come Lately " Clemson fan and will be flying a Paw on the company's flagstaff located in Chesapeake City Maryland . If any of you affable goons happen down the Chesapeake and Delaware canal over the next couple of weeks you'll see it about a half mile west of the Chesapeake City bridge on the north bank .
( back story is his daughter is Clemson class of 19' ).

I flew my giant Clemson Paw flag in Iraq at FOB Hotel in Najaf. Not sure if I converted anyone to our side but I tried!

and of course just a little lady-luck favor, as in losing "Mack Island" early in that Bama game, which seemed to lead directly to a score for them. But these things happen too, and you can still win in spite of, as we saw when we lost our two best receivers but still found a way.

I agree that our experience will be a factor...I also believe that LSU may not be a complete team. Burrow is awesome as are his receivers and line. I am unsure about their running back and their defense. What I am sure of is that it is rare for a team to win it all without all phases of the game being elite. The recent exceptions being Auburn with Cam. There is so much discussion about the passing game, but if you think back to Tebow's teams or Spurrier's pass-happy teams at UF, a nasty defense and a serious running game usually complements the passing attack. Clemson is elite on O and D. I wish the kicking game was better, but I guess you can't have it all.
Dug - thanks for the thoughts....be careful in the fog...

I'm sorry to tell you but their RB is a beast. 200 rushes for 1300 yards and 50 psasses for 400 yards. He will put lots of pressure on our coverage and our LBs in particular. they sometimes line him up as the widest receiver - this gives them a pretty clear picture what the coverage scheme will be. I hope BV has a plan for that. He surely saw it enough on film.

Whichever coach/school that can imitate Dabo/Clemson

the best will be the team to defeat us. Is that Ogeron/LSU? Got to play the game to see.
We're dialed in, loaded for bear, and in it to win it for the long haul. Not sure what Ogeron's building at LSU. He may be the next Dabo Swinney, and Dabo may be the next Nick Saban.
I have a hunch these teams doing well under new brand new coaches are at a disadvantage (OSU and LSU for example) because Dabo built what we have from the ground up, over many years. We built our success one game, one season at a time, over the course of a decade. OSU and LSU have new coaches come in and they have instant success. That's fine. Will it carry on?
Got to play the games to see, but I like our program and our chances against instant success teams.

As far as coaches go, my concern is that this new kid Brady might be the offensive BV. Monday night will be a great battle between them.
Anyone know who, in our press box, is the person most whispering in BV's ear during the game ?

In athletic performance it is extremely difficult to get that last 1 or 2% out of your potential. You have to be forced to really play your best. i think our team has been pushed there and we know what it takes. LSU doesn't know yet how that feels or how they will respond. We will see.
Another thing that occurs to me. i am willing to concede that LSU played a tougher schedule than we did. (I don't think the gap is as wide as they do but that's for another day). The point I want to make here is that they haven't really been tested. Other than Auburn & Bama they have dominated their opponents and had a comfortable lead in the 4th quarter.
OSU pushed us to the limit and we responded. When we push LSU to the limit, will they respond ? Or will the pressure start to get to them in the 4th quarter ? Will they lose the focus or the grit it takes to win championships ?
