the media needs to be held accountable for stuff like this

Apr 21, 2021, 6:02 PM

imo. especially when it could lead to serious violence.
They can pretty much say anything they want with no recourse.

"Social media users ripped The Daily Beast..."

This is not how any news story should ever look. Even if the Daily Beast's reporting was bad, who gives a crap if someone on social media bitched about it?

It’s what their sources told them.

Apr 21, 2021, 6:46 PM

“Law enforcement officials initially said Mr. Sicknick was struck with a fire extinguisher, but weeks later, police sources and investigators were at odds over whether he was hit. Medical experts have said he did not die of blunt force trauma, according to one law enforcement official.”

yep, those anonymous sources again.

Apr 21, 2021, 6:50 PM

They used those to lie for 4 yrs. Always blame it on those "sources".

Considering your fascination with journalism, you should consider learning how it works.

That was a blatant flat our lie.

Re: do they name him/her/it?

Generally, when a department or agency makes a statement, they do it as a department or agency and do not pin it on an individual. You understand how things and stuff work, right? So when it says the Capital police made a statement, that basically says that the brass over at the capital police are in agreement on what is being published, or they would sue the paper and win big, and said journalist would be working on an Alaskan crab boat.

however, in Bizzaro populist journalism world, your preferred reading, lying, and inventing sources get you promoted, provided you own the libs big time. Then their lawyers say "no reasonable person of sound mind(other than Xtiger)would believe our garbage, it is merely entertainment and nothing else".

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

everyone with a brain knew it was a lie

Apr 22, 2021, 6:40 AM

yet you guys fall over backwards justifying the lies and decent because the ends justify the means, whatever it takes.

You are completely and blatantly ignorant of how journalism works. If you would like to be educated on it, I'm happy to oblige. But if not, stop pretending you know something about it. Stick to what you know.

All these people are journalism experts because Tucker tells them they are. You get out of here with your actual real information.

happen but didn’t?

Seems to me that the folks who commit violence or other illegal acts such as looting should be held accountable for their actions.

Blaming the media, social media or words of others seems a weak excuse. My guess is that you think Trump should not be held accountable for his words that inspired for the illegal actions of others last January 6th. Why does that rationale not apply here _ or to the media in general?

The Daily Beast? Really? They're "the media"?

Apr 22, 2021, 7:52 AM

And what accountability do you propose?

How come you don't want Fox held accountable for its lies? It lied about the election and is getting sued for it. They let liars like Tucker and Hannity on their programs. In fact, Fox got out of a lawsuit by admitting Tucker Carlson isn't supposed to be taken seriously or as fact.
