It's time to listen

Oct 24, 2022, 7:56 AM

The moment Cade Klubnik stepped onto the field at the Spring Game - Death Valley felt alive.
The moment Cade Klubnik played against Syracuse - Death Valley felt alive (both offense and defense stadium energy was pre-covid energy)

When DJ played Notre Dame two years ago, the game felt off. The energy was dead. Something felt wrong the whole time. ** Honestly rewatch that game and tell me you got hyped.

That is DJ vs Cade. DJ might be more mature -- but the intangible energy / tone setting field presence is clear as day.

CALL ME A COOT. CALL ME WHATEVER - I AM CORRECT. YOU WILL SEE.

Clemson is a community based on religion and follow the crowd. I grew up in it.
You did not.
You probably have to travel and be considered a foreigner going to games.

You have been on this board less than 6 months and you talk to people like you own it and Clemson. They put a crowd noise rule in college football in the early 80s and the crowds at Death Valley were part of the reason. A lot of us were in those crowds and know what real “energy” feels like. Your lectures feel pretty empty. Just curious, where were you in 1981?

27% pulse in a Clemson community means you have contrary opinions.
That's about it.

Your opinion has no basis in reasonable logic. Yours is based on emotion and what you feel you are owed.

Cade has the IT factor. DJ does not.
Every mistake Cade makes is because of experience. Nothing about his athleticism and decision making is off -- it's just his reaction how and when is not refined.

He is brining Clemson their next ring.

Then you are OK with playing a 2nd rate QB at best who can't hold the ball, can't read defenses, makes bad throws as a rule not a mistake and is only two steps faster than a fire hydrant! I don't think that DJ brought no energy to the team...he did make some but he's not a championship QB, almost dead last in NCAA last year and somewhat better this year but he just makes bad mistakes! If you are satisfied with that then your rating is probably 100% but your Clemson Tiger judgement is 0%...nobody hates DJ, we just don't like the way he QB's and neither does Dabo! Football is a tough game but still a game and I'm not sure we can win a natty with Cade this year but we cannot with DJ!

It's time for you to realize that for now Cade is a backup who struggles. Hopefully. he will get better with more experience. Dabo doesn't make $10 million a year by listening to fans.

According to your logic their was no energy during the NC State game. What I saw was DJ at QB and Death Valley rocking.
Even Saturday, DJ was not bad outside of two bad passes and a fumble. The offense was moving up and down the field at Will and still was able to use the forward pass.
The defense shutdown Syracuse at the beginning of the second half, while DJ played the third quarter.
Cade will be an excellent QB when DJ leaves Clemson.

Let’s see, Dabo’s record is 158-36 overall at Clemson. He has an 11-7 record in bowls (gamecock overall bowl record is 10-14). Dabo is 6-4 in CFP games. He has 2 Nattys. He has 7 ACC Championships and 9 ACC Division Championships. I trust Dabo to make the right call as to who should be playing quarterback for Clemson.

You know nothing about ball. The energy was different because 80% of the stadium doesn’t know ball.

DJ has many intangibles that Cade does not have *YET*. This is DJs team. No one can lead it like he can.

The reason Cade was able to help us in that game is because there was 0 film on him. It kept the defense honest.

You are off. The fan feel was different because it was a real gamble putting Cade in in that moment. Having said that it did seem to me the offensive intensity picked up when Cade came on. Now whether that was because they were trying to pick up slack or feel more confident with him in there only yhr team knows

Considering the Notre Dame game was an away game and was during the height of COVID there was no way it could have any energy but then you knew that already with your sparkling pulse. Doesn’t your 4th tier SEC team have any positive energy you could contribute to or is it really more satisfying to try and pick at the culture of a dynastic rival that absolutely owns your cockaboose?

Re: It's time to listen

Not sure what comparison you are trying to make here. DJ has never played a home game against Notre Dame. And yes, there was plenty of excitement when he threw for 400+ on the road and we took a playoff-caliber opponent to 2OTs.
