It's time to bring back the Balloons!!!

Have you noticed that any photo of the Clemson team running down The Hill includes the orange balloons? The balloons are part of what makes the entrance exciting. It's part of the anticipation, and the kids (as well as the adults) love it.
Taking away the balloons ain't gonna have an impact on our environment. They also tried taking away plastic straws, but that didn't last long. If they want to make a difference in the environment, then do away with plastic bottles... bring back glass. Do some common sense things that will make an actual impact. Someone made this decision because they were pressured to, not because it actually made a difference.
Who misses the balloons? I know that I certainly do...

I'm all in on this. Someone needs to figure out how to bring the dang balloons back. It flat out is lame without them.

I agree on the fireworks. If they disappeared who would care? They are not part of any Clemson traditions.

IDK, I go to Death Valley to watch a football game. I don’t really care about the balloons, fireworks, bands, cheerleaders and other extraneous goings on. At my age, my lungs can no longer blow up a balloon. I already lost one finger to fireworks. I lost hearing in my left hear from sitting next to a trumpet player and at my age cheerleaders just don’t do”IT”for me anymore.

of Helium. They now make biodegradable balloons but they are also more expensive.
I think getting rid of the balloons was something that was wanted by the administration based off of cost alone.

...so let's see...7 home games with, say 500 balloons per game, base on my 2nd Calculus course figuring at Clemson (failed the first time), comes to 3500 balloons. Found Biodegradable 12" ones on Amazon (Amazon's Choice!) for 10 cents each. Again, by my calculus naughting, that's $350. Not sure how much helium would be needed. Maybe a "Go Fund Me Account" could be set up to pay for this.
Ps: There may be enough "GAS" in Clemson so we won't have to buy any.

Well that's a huge buzz-kill. With the price of tickets for a football game skyrocketing, I still think they can afford some dang balloons (and Helium). That cost would be a miniscule part of the athletic budget. Increase the ticket price by $0.25 each to pay for it. They increase the ticket price for everything else, so why not that?

IDK, we have won more Natties without balloons than with, so on quantifiable data we are better off without balloons. Since ending the tradition, we haven't lost to the coots nor dropped a home game. Why fight that success. I just think it was a distraction used by the Tommy crowd to sneak into the stadium as the coach.
Considering the cost of trophy polish line item has gone up significantly, I am just not willing to waste the money on helium and whatever latex alternative they have. My kids don't bother with balloons, they are big-game hunting the mascot...

It was an embarrassing distraction to those of us with attention challenges. I used to miss the first several plays of the game trying to see how long I could keep my eyes on a balloon.

we have 6-4 dudes competing against girls in swimming competitions and those in charge actually awarded him the winner of the female division.. dude we are so far down upside down world i don't think we ever make it back to rational thought.
It they allowed the balloons back i think the goons would descend on Clemson and we'd would have open rioting.
I would love to see the balloons fill the hill again.But then again i have to realize we have let the crazy people infiltrate our university and they operate on fear mongering and will poison the minds of students to flip the eff out if they did that. Just remember the good ole days and enjoy the ride down my friend.

The game is the thing.
The balloons added nothing to spectacle of the players running The Hill. The Rock, the band, and the run ignite the magic of the hill.
Sandman, Sandstorm, and all the johnnycomelately, 'we got to think of something' gimmicks are just that. As were they balloons. As are the fireworks. As are the all black uniforms, the all white surrender towels and so forth.
The Hill is a natural feature. Running the hill is how our players got to the field from the old dressing rooms in Fike 75 years ago. Don't muck it up, don't dilute and for goodness sakes don't worry about all the salad dressing that so many add to their gamedays in hopes of creating something remotely like Clemson has by nature had for so long.
