Sorry if Germans but I didn't watch the re-run until last night. I usually do on Sunday. That guy hates us and he doesn't hide it. We all like for commentators to love on our team and some fans get too upset when anyone says anything negative at all. But I do hope something can be done about him not getting the Tiger assignment any time soon. I do wonder what it is. Did he want an offer and we didn't give it? Jealous of us because we win too often and he can't stand it?

I watched the game while driving, literally, but didn't pick up on the hate. I recall one other game he did and noted he was brutally honest, but similarly didn't think it was over the top.

Calling it (accurately) like you see it isn't hate if it's accurate, and he had a lot of insights that I've never heard commentators make.
If you just want to see Todd McShay go to Mac's for a burger or Anish offer the blandest commentary imaginable, then you're looking for different things in your announcers than most of us are.

Sans the defense, our team looks like a cluster right now. I guess it's only natural for our fanbase to be so friggin' sensitive? A little hard truth is warranted to this team and fanbase right now. I don't mind it............especially coming off a nail-biting win over a team that lost to Jacksonville State.
Hopefully this year is just a "reset button" and we all wake up in 2022 and the Clemson we've seen the last 6-7 years is back............I'm not so sure, but I'm hoping for it............lots of little changes and tweaks need to be made after the season to sustain our past success.

He’s a breath of fresh air in my opinion, was pretty fair and called it like he saw it. Also is f robotic as some commentators but just my opinion.

I was never a fan of his until I saw him on our game broadcasts. I kinda like and respect the guy now. He tells it like he sees it. Brutally honest. Case in point was his criticism of the defense on the coverage of that screen pass they threw for the touchdown. And he was exactly correct. A blind man knew that was coming and our D brought a knife to a gunfight on that play. I don't think he was over the top on his DJ critique but he admits he is just bad. Personally I don't remember when a team missed on a QB recruit as bad as we did on DJ. And get ready because we still think he is the answer and we will be seeing him again next year along with the rest of the coaching staff.

I liked RG3, thought his commentary was fair, accurate and insightful. Besides, his comment that our running back was a “bad Mafah” was rather funny.

I did not listen to RGIII the last game so I don't know what he is saying with the FSU game.
That said, for a guy that could not learn a dysfunctional Washington offense nor read any D, I don't think any of his hot takes have been very accurate (other than saying we are not very good right now). It is one thing to say that our offense has not been effective but I still don't take his critique has been accurate.
He is trying to be college Tony Romo (who can read a game) and it isn't working.

the play by play clown Jones certainly does. He was one of the main ones running his mouth about Dabo last summer on tweeter. I don't think RG3 hates and i enjoy his breakdown.

I said on a previous thread on this same topic that I think he’s fair, entertaining and knowledgeable. Better commentator than he was as a pro QB. He apparently calls it as he sees it.

My biggest issue with announcers in the last 4 games is that they have all been made very aware of DJ's struggles this season.
They are opening each broadcast discussing his faults and his weaknesses.
They then proceed to harp on each negative play from DJ at the expense of actually discussing everything that is happening.
I thought the Pitt game was the worst as they seemed to search for what DJ did wrong on each incompletion or negative play even when it just hit the WR in the hands for a drop.
Thing like: "Well that went right through the WR's hands, but it was probably thrown a little too hard. You know DJ has a problem with putting touch on the ball."
"Completion there for 6 yards, but look at this guy on the other side of the field away from the play who was wide open for 8 yards. DJ has to see that guy."
"That's a drop there, but DJ was really late with the ball. DJ has had a hard time getting the ball out on time this season......"
I think their preconceived notions are causing the announcers, RG3 included, to see what they are expecting to see instead of analyzing what is happening in front of them.
DJ has not been perfect and he is far from it, but RG3 missed the boat when he said DJ did more bad than good in the FSU game.
I also think DJ deserved the announcers' criticisms when he does things like throwing an INT on a shovel pass, but they are trying to turn DJ into a product of what he was to start the season. TNEtters are doing the same thing.
The starting and ending each game with DJ's shortcomings is taking away from the product that they are trying to put out, which is being the voice of the game happening in front of everyone.
RG3 doesn't hate Clemson, but he also isn't the greatest announcer on the planet just because he says bad things about Clemson's QB who is struggling.
IMO, he is taking the low hanging fruit and pretending to be a genius because he spouts endless narratives to fit his predetermined talking points for each game.

Yes they were critical, but honest and accurate about the Clemson offense.
They both stated his struggles and IMO were simply giving it to the viewer without any bias.
Fact is this…there is too much talent to provide this level of execution from our coaches and players. Any criticism is not only warranted, but has been earned by the offense at this point.

It is not WHAT he says but HOW he says it. The criticism is warranted and he is right in saying it. However, he sounds like a drunken sailor at a bar with some of his buds with all that yelling and high pitched squeeling like a little school girl. Terrible delivery and totally unprofessional.

Yes, you said it better than I did. His delivery is awful and he was clearly calling out Dabo when he talked about how professional the FSU coach was for how he handled the QB after the interception. If anyone can't catch that, I don't know what to say.
FSU coach is professional? He's the one that didn't play the game last year. That his call.

I think it’s funny all the posters praising RGIII for “calling it like he sees it”. If that’s what he was doing with Clemson, why didn’t he do the same with FSU? He clearly favored FSU in that game and was very unprofessional. Not a fan.

I watched that brutal offense Saturday and yeah, his comments aren't making us any better.....but let's be honest; our team (minus Ukelele) seems to have somewhat pulled their schlit together since being consistently roasted on every form of social media known to man.
Football is a big-boy sport. I say bring RG3 back to EVERY GAME. The more our players hear the hate, the more they'll response.
...tired of this "pampering the players fragile ego's" bull-split....

Is being honest and accurate hate. Let's be honest the teams with good QB play will most often win. Clemson if best is the standard then we have no QB right now.Next year will be some kind of interesting.

I don't mind the truth side of announcers but I get fed up with obvious preparation downfalls and am really fed up with conversations that happen during game play. Call the game. Save the conversations for timeouts or when nothing is happening on the field.

I’ve enjoyed him and the guy obviously knows the game. I’ll never criticize anyone for calling it like it is and I’d say 96% of folks across the country are flabbergasted at the struggles of Clemson’s offense. Clemson will rightly be held to a different standard on the field than a Louisville or FSU due to the standard of the last 10 years
