the Offensive Line. The reason DJ looked so good last year was because he had a better OL and a thoroughbred RB to lean on. Now both of those have been stripped. Playing with a sub-par OL and a young inexperienced RB group. I’ve been critical of DJ so far, and yes he’s making some bad throws, but he can throw the ball. He’s got the talent and IQ. He just has no confidence in the OL giving him time resulting in rushed inaccurate passes.

and still looked like crap and missed easy "routine" throws. The OL can take some of the heat but DJ has not been good.

Do you know what nepotism even means? What in the world had Dabo done that exhibits nepotism? WE can get better but this team does not have the fire power we are used to period.

Dabo allowing Caldwell to steal money from Clemson is nepotism. He's only the OL coach because he's friends with Dabo.

We’re you saying that last year when he threw for almost 500 yds on ND? We were all thinking man he looks good. I will say he definitely looks terrible so far, but what could possibly be the issue other than the OL? Perhaps just the pressure of being the starter now. Idk but he ain’t the same dude.

They were almost all dinks and dunks or screens man. He threw very few completions over 10-15yds

He missed wide open receivers by a lot he is pressing and second game in a row put ball on the ground. He has turned it over all three games. Pressing to much.

he averaged 7 yds per completion, it's all dump offs because they don't trust him. He tried throwing "downfield" twice in the first half and threw the ball 10 ft over the wr's head. DJ's been brutal

At one point he was averaging 5 yards per pass attempt. That's not good against a TECH team Trevor lit up for 70 points last year.

You are counting shovel passes, the dump offs to the RBs. There was not a pass that I remember that flew 10yds and was caught. I remember Ngata getting 10+ yds but it was yac. He cant even hit Ross on the slot, or in a screen. The RBs bailed DJ out multiple times by catching balls that were at their feet, giving them zero chance for great run. They did good to get turned around and get 4yds.
So if you think his zero passing TDs in 2 games, barely a 100yds passing is good, then you are lost man.

It’s bad coaching. Streeter recruited the guy, could of had anyone in the nation, but chosenDJ, and he is not able to see the areas where DJ needs the work the most and develop him. Plain and simple.
If DJ went to bama and Brice to Clemson, i guarantee you Brice would be the one looking terrible.

I disagree, I think it’s DJ and I don’t think he should be benched. He needs to sit some meaningful series. He needs to see PUMA moving the team. I think he’s putting too much pressure on himself and doesn’t believe the back up can win games.
Some guys aren’t threatened by competition at their position but are more team focused and worried if they make a critical mistake or are injured that the team will fail. Seeing the other guy win actually takes the load off. You saw this with Brice and Trevor. Trevor took it to a different level after that Syracuse game.

I’ve tried to tell myself this after the first two games. But watching his mechanics…throwing flat footed, throwing off the back foot…and his inability to see the field…I don’t know if he does have it. On top of that, he’s turned the ball over every game.
There’s a possibility he won’t be starting by the end of the year.
