$3 Trillion isn’t enough

Why not a cool $100 trillion.

Mar 26, 2021, 11:29 AM

Heck, let's just go full on stupid numbers, a cool quadrillion.

I'd rather they spent on infrastructure than other junk

Mar 26, 2021, 11:29 AM

They need to figure out how much total money they want to spend across all the programs, then figure out the best way to spend it. This +++trillion for each cause of the week adds up quick.

It never will be real stuff though.

Mar 26, 2021, 12:30 PM

It'll be suspension bridges in South Dakota and high speed rail in Ames Iowa.

Suspension bridges and high speed rail will be in West Virginia***

A reasonable approach - let's watch what happens. I think there will be some pork, especially if earmarks return. I think the more proper thing to hope for is that it does get spent mostly on infrastructure - and that it does create jobs. Even some pork could still meet those standards.

Here's an insider tip: They won't spend it on infrastructure***

All the lie-cheat-and-steal democrats will suddenly become minority owners in construction firms around the country.

Like Cuomo, first roads paved will be in their neighborhood and their relatives neighborhoods. First bridges fixed, in their district...

NC

I don't think you can make the claim that only Dems do that kind of stuff.

I will remind you of Loeffler and Purdue's stock sales.

Currency crises typically happen quickly and with few warnings right before they happen. Certainly not my hope, but my fear. At least infrastructure spending typically has identifiable results of the multiplier effect from government spending...IF a bill actually directs funds to infrastructure. Remember "roads and bridges" and "shovel ready jobs"

I remember the FAST Act having a great impact on infrastructure.

Mar 26, 2021, 12:06 PM

That was back in 2015 under Obama. I remember our last president was too incompetent to get a bill passed even though it was an easy sell and has bi-partisan support. Nancy and Chuck tried to have a meeting with him about it and he walked out, because he was a child.

Cool. We’re talking about infrastructure here.

Trump acted like a straight up child on multiple occasions. I definitely didn't like that about him.

It's cute how yall are suddenly concerned about spending

Mar 26, 2021, 11:34 AM

the objective is to destroy then rebuild

fundamentally transform

Is a good first step to dismantling the country

They can get anything they want (in that area) via budget

Mar 26, 2021, 12:32 PM

reconciliation. It can only be done once per year and they already used it for the "COVID" package.

Re: They can get anything they want (in that area) via budget

Mar 26, 2021, 12:43 PM

joey

Reconciliation is limited, but I don't think it is only once per year. I might be wrong.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm 98.6% sure it's once per year - I saw that when trying

Mar 26, 2021, 12:47 PM

to figure out exactly was budget reconciliation was. :)

Reconciliation is limited, but I think most kinds of spending fall in the reconciliation category (but I'm not sure).

How is California’s high speed rail project coming along?

Mar 26, 2021, 1:13 PM

Yeah ... thought so ...

This $$$ would go straight into Dems pockets
