The conference gets $6M for each team in the playoff and $4M for each team in a NY6 non-playoff bowl game.

Does the ACC hack those numbers up evenly

I believe it is distributed evenly.

Which is just another affront.

It is divided evenly. But Clemson, or whichever school is playing in the game, does get extra funding for travel costs.

Its basically a wash because that's about how much it costs.

The conference gets the money, but pays expenses of the school that goes. So the real money from bowls comes from the contract bowls.

That's not correct. The individual team receives travel cost compensation IN ADDITION to the $6M that goes to the conference.

incentive to cut any corners on travel because any money they do not spend gets distributed evenly between the other members of the ACC.

The participating teams will travel with a large group of Athletic Dept members and stay in expensive hotels and charters.

Many times they will spend all the money (and then some) and there will be no money left over to distribute to the other members of the ACC. But the players are treated like kings and it works out to be a bit of a recruiting trip as the HS prospects like the idea of being treated like a king.
