It’s a shame I can’t even watch my absolute favorite

Way to escape the stresses of life, college football, without having this ridiculous political HOAX of “social justice and police brutality” shoved down my throat.

It’s really sad how far this country has fallen.

I noticed that crap during last night's game too; unnecessary and out of line.

It’s everything. Can’t do much of anything these days without it slapping you in the face.

Speaking of Hoaxes, you should add Covid-1984 to the mix.

The virus is real but the media and government hysteria is serving multiple agendas beyond simple public health.

I agree with you, not because I side with Democrats or Republicans, its just sports fans are hypocrites. They don't want politics in sports unless its the politics they agree in.

I don't think people care if politicians go to games. They just don't want political messages everywhere.

There’s some truth to that historically. However, give power to the socialist party and see it matters to your 401k. You’re kidding yourself if you don’t think the market will suffer under the current breed of democrats.

Never had a problem with Obama or Trump attending a ball game as President and CINC. But rest assured the media and Dems have a problem with anything Trump does including waking up in the morning. They have succeeded in devaluing Trump, and the Presidency, and America. And do not look for that to change in America for any political leader or president in your lifetime until people get bored with the media creating instead of reporting the news ...

Nor did we conservatives complain when Obama was featured at sporting events.

Just stop already. A) He mentioned nothing about politics, and B)

If football announcers took 15 minutes to praise Trump and the plethora of positives he's achieved in short time, during every sports telecast, then you'd be whining like someone stole your lunch money.

I can’t believe people would live in such a racist country.

[4]
Posted: Sep 5, 2020, 3:33 PM

Reality is that they wouldn’t. This country has done more for ALL races than any other country on the planet.

I’m offended that a career criminal gets sainthood after his girlfriend has to call the cops on him for domestic abuse multiple times, sexual assault and about to steal her car with kids in it. Then blatantly disobeys the cops commands over and over again while reaching inside the car for a weapon. What would be the story if they cops did nothing and he comes out firing?

They would say BLDM..

Thanks for the info.

I would point out that this is a link to Newsweek which is a pretty mainstream media source.

I get it. We are in a strange new world and everyone feels the need to use their position but I really wish we could just enjoy the game.

I’m tired of everybody making things about politics - whether that is COVID or the social protests. I didn’t like Trump at the CFP and don’t like the constant need of various sports commentators to interject their opinions about things they aren’t commentating on.

S T F U you idiot. If they didn't want to entertain us then they would not have agreed to play for a scholarship. If they want to be career politicians they are more than welcome to do it on their dime. They want that chance to make the millions in the pros but good luck with that because there will be no pros very shortly. If you have a problem with this as an athlete then take your ### to another country and pursue your dream. Yeah that's what I thought.

Yes it’s terrible these blacks you mention are forced to entertain And they only receive a free education and a pathway to millions of dollars! Such injustice!

You are obviously away too focused on what others think, believe and do. How'd you get so externally focused? Get over it. There are other, better ways to live your life.

I tuned into the Memphis and ArkSt game at the mid point if the second quarter. For 3 straight minutes it was all political. They didn’t even acknowledge a fumble on the snap. Have they been broadcasting this way the entire first half? It’s not even a blowout where they need to fill airtime. If this is new normal for college sports then no thanks!

Why? Because team sports bring us together and that is bad for them. So, how do they keep us divided? By throwing this garbage in our faces during the game...

It's working too. Just based on what I've seen here on T-net.

I will watch on mute if I have to. Keep politics out of sports!!

I am ok with politicians in sports... like Trump or Obama being featured as long as the message is bipartisan and sport related. Congratulate the teams, take your picture, and leave.

Several members of the Football team are the ones who

initiated the Movement at Clemson. Some would say that it was National Press that coerced Coach Dabo Swinney to acknowledge this; others will say that Dabo simply "saw the light".

Regardless, I don't support this "Team" for them to "use their position as spokespersons". Personally I don't care what their Political opinions are - black or white, Republican or Democrat.

I choose to support the Sport of Football at Clemson; a sport that has Club traditions, amateur traditions, pro-military traditions. There is no doubt in my mind that we in this generation do a tremendous disservice to the memories of all those that have come before and built those traditions.

Some traditions like racism have seen more than their share of time, and have been thankfully removed.

But I will not abide the removal of Respect for the Flag, Respect for traditions of Faith and Family, Respect for our Constitutionally guaranteed Freedom. These traditions are non-negotiable.
