Streeter to call the plays? I don't really know the answer to this question It's a genuine question, not a shot at you. I've heard a lot of folks insinuate that he tied Streeter's hands. If that's true then it's terrible but I don't necessarily know whether it's true or how we could know that he did that.

A lot of people have said that, but there hasn't been one shred of proof to back it up!!! Dabo did have a play sheet, but he could be just discussing certain plays with his new OC....

That's pretty much true at 99.9% of schools around the country. OC can make calls, but the HC can veto or whatever. Some, like Mack Brown, are total control freaks. Well, in all fairness, it is his head on the line.
There's way more to being an OC than just the play calls, too.

It took him 3 years too long. Clemson's O has been on the slide since their last National Championship. Not saying it was always bad, but less than the sum of its parts which points straight at the last two OC's

Thought for sure Dabo would dig in his heels and say Streeter just got in there (as OC) and needed more time to prove himself, but I’m so glad I was wrong. Happy to see that Dabo set aside his pride (or was told to set it aside by the AD/BOD) and actually had the cajones to “swing for the fences”, as some have said. I’ll reserve judgment on Riley until after next season, but as of right now, this seems to be just what our O needed to get back on track! Welcome, former Toad, to Tigertown!

If the BOT told Dabo to set aside his pride…..etcetcetc etc, God help Clemson cause the last thing we need is the BOT telling anyone how to run the football team. Leave that kind of action to the USC BOT.

If the BOT told him to fire Streeter we’d be looking for a new head coach as well. I’d be shocked if that wasn’t the case. The Dallas Cowboys and of course the team in Columbia are great examples of the results you get when the big boss tries to coach the team.

"bringing in a dynamic, proven leader." He couldn't possibly promote from within now. I don't think he would fire Streeter and promote somebody else on the staff anyway. That really wouldn't make sense.

He is proven with someone else great team...Streeter was handicapped because of DJ...Dabo knew he could not fire Tony Elliott...like he was making DJ into an All American! We are not going to know until way down the road...the TCU coach got his SMU offense customized by Chad Morris and that landed him the TCU job! Chad was the architect of the TCU bunch, maybe Riley found it and ran with it...now Riley has a new multifaceted QB, two hot shot backs and an offense that can move the ball...look at stats vs. TENN...HOPE Riley hits a home run!

WOW.....I must admit I am surprised. It appears to be an upgrade, but only time will tell. Gotta commend Dabo for taking a step to make changes....next if we can get him to be more willing to examine the transfer portal, then we will really be making progress. I feel bad for Streeter because he has a family he has to support. Wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors.
