It'll always be a "What if", but, What if Taisun had not had

Jun 2, 2022, 8:36 AM

all the injury problems, and had been a totally healthy backup option to DJ last year? Don't you think he would have gotten some significant playing time, and the outcome of at least one game would have been different?

The game I am speaking specifically of is the NC State game. I think he would have had a major effect on that game. And, winning that game would have tilted the then two way tie breaker with us and Wake in our favor, giving us a rematch against Pitt in the ACC Championship game.

Now, a two loss ACC Championship Clemson would NOT have made the Playoffs. Butt, we for sure would have gotten a more prestigious bowl invite than the cheezy Cheez-it Bowl.

Butt, as I said, it will always be a "What If".

:(

What if Chase had stuck it out. He would have been the starter last year.

you mean the guy that had to drop from the ACC to go to the Sunbelt to look competitive?

ETN is the reason we won than game. 5* receivers are the ones that made those circus catches.

We have given so much glory to a guy that simply wasn't that great b/c of one play.

Nice avatar, but very bad take.

He left Clemson due to being behind the #1 draft pick. He left Duke because the talent around him was straight trash. He was running for his life every time he dropped back for a pass.

He set passing records at Appalachian state last year. I don't know if you heard, but apppalachian state is a pretty solid football school. If he has the same year this year as last year, he will be drafted.

What if Demarcus Bowman was still here? Could have been the starter down the stretch. JK - but that 20/20 hindsight is a no win game. I do agree with you though based on his mobility.

Chase Brice is the only thing I wish had happened differently.

We're in the playoffs with him at QB.

and most likely given the quality of the opponents we win it.

Not sure we would have made the playoffs given the injuries but for sure we would have been a much better team

I forgot about the loss to Pitt.

However, IMO we beat Ga and NC State with Brice and we're in the playoffs.

Given that Ga won it with a great defense and ###### offense, we could have won it with a great defense and a mediocre offense.

He was terrible when he was healthy so you can't Blame Injuries on his performance. Brice is the one who would have had the keys to the kingdom handed to him last year if he had stuck around. He's proven he isn't anything special since he left but he would have been a big improvement over either of our QBs last season.

not meant to knock anybody

but we did not have a National Championship caliber QB last year on the roster, including Taisun.

NC State game turned on a dropped TD pass by Ross in OT

Jun 2, 2022, 12:30 PM

The Pack has scored on an almost identical “throw and catch” earlier in OT.

Their WR made a play for their QB ... and ours didn’t.

Not that I blame the entire loss on that one play. Just a way to show an alternative point of view to the narrative that DJ lost that game on his own.

DJ was not great, but our receivers were borderline terrible all year and gave him no help.
