Game of Thrones? if so can you tell me where in the books this past season left off, or what book it was in? I think its storm of swords but im not sure. I started reading the first books but I cant get into them because I have already watched the TV show.

Correct, and they left a tremendous amount out. Next year should be fantastic.

I hope Martin can catch up; from what I understand, next season we'll be caught up to the books.

If anyone out there is on the fence - try the series. They really are good, and I don't even read fantasy. It's almost historical fiction, but a few clicks off.
