It was not quite a direct comparison, but ultimately, this

year for us reminded me a lot of the "Kelly Bryant" year. We had a sputtering, one dimensional offense, (more sputter this year, obviously) but there was (and is) a hotshot new gunslinger QB on the horizon that gives a LOT of increased expectations for next year.
Now, defensively, there IS no comparison. We had the Power Rangers coming back for their Last Ride after the KB year. We have some very significant losses on that side of the ball that will require some new guys to step up next year. I think the talent is there to do just that.
All in all, there should be a new buzz of excitement around the program again, starting with Spring Practice.
The regular season has a trip to South Bend, Indiana. Maybe we get our own chance to "tear up some Indiana property". (Just kidding, of course, Clemson traveling fanbase has more Class than that!)

You are right about the defense losing a lot of good playmakers, but I'll say, I'm excited about it. We've gotten by so long with smart, so so athletes. This new crop of linebackers and safeties is going to make us so much more athletic assuming the mental part is up to par!
