Millie Gets The Loss???

Clemson SB lost 7-6. Millie only gave up five of the runs. Why did she get the loss???? If Valarie was responsible for the 6th and 7th run (7th being the losing run), shouldn’t she have gotten the loss??

Bases loaded. Those 3 base runners were her responsibility therefore when they all scored she was responsible for a 4-5 deficit. At the end of the inning it was 4-7 FSU the two runs we scored in the 7th didn't factor in to the determination of the winning/losing pitcher. What was really unfair to millie was the two errors in the 6th; if Clemson had played clean in the infield we woulda won both games against FSU.

True......Tigers are a top 25 team but to be elite they have to stop making the crucial errors against the elite teams that they are playing. Same thing happened in their 1 loss to ND, errors. Once they are able to play clean against the best they will take another step.

Yep. Clemson has played some strong top 20 teams this season, and the losses seem to point back to mistakes in the infield. Of course, that’s how the game goes but even Rittman has zeroed in on needing to learn from those miscues. Last night, he kind of contributed by putting an ice cold Keller at first who hasn’t played for awhile. Maybe Spencer in for Thompson instead Cagle leads to a better result, but it’s water under the bridge now.

Change she barely even had time to get her glove on. It's amazing in baseball/softball how the ball always finds the new guy/girl.
