streaming options

Aug 12, 2021, 9:12 PM

I need some guidance here for this years viewing season please
which service will get us live ncaa football & the ACC network with different situations such as:
clemson gameday condo with no wifi plan-only Verizon - rural home with AT&T 5 mg feed -- beach house with legit wifi speed

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You'll be fine with any of them at the beach house...I like

YouTube TV. Back before I had fast fiber, with only 5 mb DSL, I tried YouTube TV, and it did fair...definitely some buffering. So you may be able to stream YouTube TV at your rural home, just expect some limitations.

Trying to stream data with just a cell signal, is going to depend on how good a signal you are getting.

Biden’s infrastructure should help with that. FIBER FOR ALL!!

now that I say that, Fiber For All, might mean something different

LOL! That trillion will go to the same “shovel ready jobs” the last infrastructure/stimulus went to in 2009. To the OP, YouTube is a pretty good choice. Of course with your beach house just about any one that carries ACCN will work.

good question.
Has anyone tried Sling TV? Is it cheaper than Youtube?
I need ACCN for football only also.

Sling TV is garbaje.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

First I ever tried was Sling.

Aug 13, 2021, 3:45 AM [ in reply to Re: streaming options ]

Since I have tried Playstation Vue (no longer an option) and YouTube TV. When I get a service again for football season, I am going with Sling with the sports package. Historically, I never had any issues with Sling.

I loved YouTube TV....but it had gotten too expensive.

No...they also have gotten too expensive.

I really don't watch TV unless it is football, Clemson sports, or something on Netflix. I just have a hard time justifying the expense. This year I only had service September though January.

Any one else try fubo? I would be interested in knowing how you like it.

Just curious. Do you have a regular cable subscription at you primary residence? If so you can go to all the normal sports channels websites and “sign in with provider” and stream directly from the channel’s site.

AT&T at the house (1000 ft from the road) & we use Netflix which is useless for sports-which is ok Feb-Aug
beach is plenty fast & expensive but still need a subscription
Clemson ---anybody try Verizon Mifi there & what speed would be sufficient to avoid constant buffering?
inquiring minds want to know

So what I’m saying is you don’t need a steaming service if you have a cable subscription at home. You can just go straight to the networks website and select “log in with tv provider” then put in your ATT credentials for your home account. I have been streaming remotely that way for years.(directTv) it works great. As long as you have internet.

It even works on espnAPP and new BallySports APP(for Braves games)

This is exactly what I've been doing the last 7 years or so. When I absolutely can't park in front of the TV. Works great as long as you have a decent internet connection.

I have Hulu+. It has the ACC network and streams all the games. It isn’t the cheapest, but it is cheaper than cable.

How much you pay for hulu and internet?***

I have a firestick, downloaded empire purple, 12000+ channels. Downside is tv guide sucks. You can find just about anything plus all ppv. $13 a month. Tropoint .com has alot of info about streaming.

I have a sneaking suspicion that that's not legal. Am I correct?

2024 purple level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It is not. That is why so many still buy firesticks

Aug 13, 2021, 10:16 AM

U can keep installing the latest pirate apps

So installing a "pirate app" is legal- that's what you're saying.

I don't believe you.

A 60 second Google search shows this NOT to be true...

1) It is illegal to "jailbreak" the device in the first place, according to your agreement with Amazon when you purchase the device.

2 It is illegal to watch copyrighted content on the device without paying in some way foe said content.
