It is getting to the point

Nov 29, 2012, 7:23 PM

Where I can barely look at this board. Three years ago, it was a fun place to talk about football, and now it's become the "Fire Dabo, by the way Obama is a Socialist, by the way the woohoo is gay" board. We have a 10-2 ball club, and even if that is against weak competition, we weren't always beating the weak competition under Tommy Bowden. While I'm glad that 10-2 has become more of an expectation, the dissatisfaction and straight up ridiculousness of some of the members on here is making me sick to my stomach. Dabo has pulled in 3 straight top 10 recruiting classes, 3 ACC division titles, and an ACC championship. Sure he has lost to the Coots four times in a row, but they are actually an extremely good team now. I think they have reached the pinnacle of success though while we are just beginning to touch on our potential. They can have a 4 game winning streak every 50 years, that's fine, I'll take the utter domination in between those half-centuries. The point is, the fans on here to need to chin up and be true supporters of this team and its staff, whether a pumper or dumper, alum or non-alum, student or 80 year old retiree, fan of purple or fan of orange. I'm all in, are you?
One Team. One Dream. One Clemson.
Go Tigers!!!

Right on, problem is we are in the "blame someone", "want it now", "we are entitled", generation.

You make a great point. We use to lose to weak teams that we

The fire Dabo stuff is ridiculous.

I agree.

The close to your post may have been the lamest thing ever. One Dream... Haha. I like it though, I do.

Board are still pretty fun. Looks like Morris will return.

What do you guys think of this divisional realignment:

You should consider the ad/marketing copywriting route. Your starting salary will be 10k higher and you'll have limitless opportunities to eventually move up the chain to become a marketing coordinator, account executive, director of digital media, etc.

The reason I'm telling you that is because most younger people don't know a lot about copywriting and think that the only area they can apply their writing skills is in the journalism field. Copywriters are marketers as well as writers, so you have the opportunity to do some pretty cool things. I manage digital media for one of the largest energy retailers in the nation, and it's been far more rewarding than my stint as a journalism student.

Just a recommendation from someone who's been there done that.

If you don't care about money and long-term financial prospects, then ignore everything I just said. Just be sure and keep your options open. Good luck.

...where we regularly make excuses for our coaching staff?

2024 purple level memberbadge-donor-20yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

This doesn't come across as an excuse.

Nov 30, 2012, 8:34 AM

This is a statement of fact. Why would it be necessary to make excuses for continuous improvement?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Uh

Nov 29, 2012, 8:41 PM

The woohoo is gay (along with the "wooo" after cadence count), Obama is a socialist, and we lost the two most important games on the schedule.

We're 10-2 and literally beat no one. But yeah, go Dabo!!!

There's something in these hills.

Re: Uh

Nov 29, 2012, 8:53 PM

No complaints here, it could have been worse so I'm happy with the 10-2.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

So then you'd be happy with 1-11.

Nov 30, 2012, 6:58 AM

Nov 30, 2012, 7:30 AM

They b!tch when we were 6-5 and beating USuc. They b!tch when we are 10-2 and losing to USuc. I think we could go 13-0, win NC and they would still b!tch because we didn't run the type offense/defense/KOreturn that they wanted. In other words we got our B!TCHES.

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

No, national championships are what "they" want.

Since Sun morning this is about the 1000th time somebody has post the same thing you have posted. Bottom line the loss to the Coots ruined this season, end of story. The only way this can be a good year is to beat a really good team in the bowl, 11 -2 and I will be some what happy.

I applaud you and other young fans who are so loyal

Nov 30, 2012, 2:10 AM

Anyone who puts down the young people who are the future of Clemson should be ashamed. Our varied ages on TNet give us different points of reference. When you compare 10-2 with where we were 2 years ago, it is pretty d@mn good.

Now, young person, you have to be understanding with the older fans. I have been attending games since the 70's, but was a fan before I was old enough to actually watch a game in Death Valley. Since the last time it happened was in the 50's, I am still not old enough to remember four losses in a row to SC (prior to this year). So, please understand that those of us who have been around for a while are comparing decades to your few years of viewing the football program. It is natural that you are going to think we overreact. But, to us it is a very unnatural circumstance--unpleasant, and certainly unacceptable.

That being said, please keep your passion for our Tigers. And, let's all be united in the fact that we support them and want what is best for Clemson.

Go Tigers!

Re: It is getting to the point

If we're part of the Clemson Family, we may argue amongst ourselves, but stand together against the outside foes (Coots, especially).

2024 white level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

At elite schools you lose 4 times in a row to the rival

Nov 30, 2012, 7:48 AM

and in most instances your gone. Don't take my word for it just look it up. Oh wait a minute...I said elite schools apparently us clemson fans don't think of ourselves as elite anymore so go back to what you were doing and forget what I just wrote. I forgot this is the new clemson nation so I do apologize. Us older fans held this university to a higher standard but you guys do what you want to its your future.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You have to be selective about what you click on

Nov 30, 2012, 8:41 AM

PS: Ban the woo hoo. I did notice that the amount of woo hooing has been reduced this year. I think the ban is catching on. Instead say "Go Tigers! Go Tigers, go!!! C-L-E-M-S-O---N" or as my 4 year old Jackson says "J-A-C-K-S-O---N"
