The bottom line is Dabo has mismanaged the program this year!

Dabo, to his credit, has the lifetime protection of 2 NC’s from 4 trips to the CFP Final. He’s a made man.
However, he has mismanaged the program and a less tenured coach without those titles would be feeling the heat right now. At this rate the ten win seasons are gonna dry up if drastic changes aren’t made so the “we have another 10 win season” argument is null and void

we should be 7-5 or 8-4 probably
I don't think most fans have a clue
No doubt Dabo needs to make some adjustments
but we are still 10-2 and going to the ACC champ game and a good bowl for the players and seniors ...

Playing in the ACC changes the performance metric significantly. We would be lucky to win 8 in the SEC or Big 12. The ACC is improving, and we are regressing. We need some NFL help on offense. It may just be that the NIL money truck is pulling away and we will never catch up, but We have to do better than Saturday.

I'm just an alumni fan -- but I do think we should have some very very savvy NFL experience on stafff
like QB coaching, OC etc. even if we promote young coaches and give them a chance we shoud have a BEVY of white haired analysts etc helping scheme etc. Dabo can always shave some money off his salary for that if needed .......
for sure the NIL is changing things rapidly - and our small Alumni base compared to schools who graduate 2x, 3x, our alumni per year are at a numbers disadvantage .... for contributing ....

Out of all of the posts since Saturday, you make the most sense. I have been thinking similar thoughts that we were ill prepared in both planning and execution in that game. In short, we looked like amateurs against a 2nd year coach with a transfer quarterback.

Most fans can clearly see the fact that DJ will never ever have the ability to get this team back to the playoffs…..not even if he was allowed to stay at Clemson for 20 years and Dabo kept telling us “DJ is our guy”! Most everyone except our coaches could see this last season. Now he has started for an entire second season and this guy is just not mentally or physically fast enough to be successful on a potential college playoff caliber team. The ACC is so weak so our 10 - 2 record is not a true indicator of how good or bad this team is this season. Notre Dame is having a down year but destroyed us. Coots were destroyed by a bad Florida team but beat us at home as 14 point underdogs. Without a mobile QB you will never ever sniff the playoffs. I don’t care how weak your conference and schedule you play. As I mentioned above DJ is not fast enough mentally or physically to successfully compete and win against the top teams. And Notre Dame and Coots are both very far from being top teams!

We are 10-2 but both our losses are to 2 horrible out of conference teams. Winning 10 games is not hard playing in the ACC, especially when you out-recruit every single team.

when we have considerably more talent than every team we played this year.
We should be 12-0 right now based on our talent level, but unfortunately our coaches are squandering it.

10 wins in the ACC with our talent is a below average season. Thats the unfortunate truth. We are the weakest conference in football this season. Another poster compared us to VT under Frank Beamer. Celebrating 10 win seasons until we were too far gone to recover. We aren't there yet without changes that outcome is still very possible. Also, not a coot. Proud Alumni callin' it like I see it.

That 2019 LSU game was Streeter’s OC debut. He failed miserably and yet was still made OC when Tony Elliot left.

I though Streeter was the OC during the Sugar bowl when Elliott tested positive for COVID.

You’re right! I dont blame him for mixing up the trips to NOLA! I was at both and left heartbroken both times. Streeter took over vs Ohio State revenge match in super dome the following season. LSU was the NC prior year

I said this year! No reason why we aren’t undefeated. Had we lost both games because the opponents were better I’d be ok with the 2 losses

The Obvious Issues we have now have been brewing for 3 yrs
Nov 28, 2022, 5:29 PM
|
|
The warning signs have been: QB development has been poor for 3+ years. Trevor did not improve from his freshman year. Deshaun barely improved from his freshman year. In general, for last two years our overall team performance did not improve throughout the seasons. For the talent level we have, we have underperformed for 3 years. Our rankings are based on team performance/brand from 2015-2019. This is on the coaching staff, not just one player or one position. Starts at the top and works it way through the coordinators and position coaches. Of course, the on field performance by each player/coach determines the outcome of each game, but the foundation must be solid and it needs to be re-examined.

if that was allowed. So that argument doesn't hold water when it comes to did he get better while he was at Clemson. He was as good his freshman year as he was when he left.

He excelled in college on pure talent is the argument, in spite of the coaching. Trevor and some NFL QB gurus have talked about all the bad habits Trevor had entering the NFL. Trent Dilfer is one who really took a shot at Streeter and how poor QB coaching is at Clemson. It's all opinions, but worth considering coming off a game where your QB completed less than 30% of his passes and you didn't break 100 yards passing, at Clemson.

Dabo has to hold his coaches accountable for the performance of their players. He has to make some major changes in off-season.

Coaching, recruiting, talent evaluation, player development, game management, playbook. We have fallen short in all areas. Dabo has some serious soul-searching to do in the off-season and some tough decisions that need to be made.
